I know you are tired of my police certificate posts

Recommended Posts

Ok, we don't have our interview date yet, but it could be close (fingers crossed). We also STILL don't have the Japanese police cert. (They finally said they would do it...we had to travel all the way from Inner Mongolia to GUZ to apply for the damn thing, since Beijing would not even hear of it, even after going about 10 times). We applied on 4/15 and they said 2-3 months. This means the thing could be ready as late as 7/15.

From what I understand, they ask for the police certs at the medical exam, right? What happens if you don't have it? Can you say that you will soon get it? Do the VO's look at it?

Also, if we don't get it in time, if I write a statement saying I know that hubby has no criminal record in Japan and have it certified at the US consulate, will they accept it? I know, they will probably give us a blue if there is no cert.

Has anyone ever "slid through" the police cert requirement?

I never thought I'd find a government slower than our own, but seems like Japan is the clear winner.

I think that for most of your questions, any answers, outside of ones provided by GUZ staff, would be pure speculation; especially with regard to how GUZ will deal with the absence of this specific report and what their internal operating policy is in that regard.

As to the submission/review time, it has been my impression that the report is provided by the beneficiary, to the Consulate staff, along with the medical info, first thing in the morning, before the actual interviews commence.

I think they most likely have staff specialists (not necessarily the VO¡¯s) who make the final review/check of the data contained in both the medical exam results and the submitted police report(s), in the hour or two before interview time, and then supply/add the results to the case file, for the VO¡¯s use, just prior to the beneficiary being called to the window.

In my own opinion, I doubt that anything ¡°slides through¡± the dialed-in routine of the staff, who¡¯s job it is to prevent anything from slipping through the cracks.

Also, I doubt very much, that they would accept a statement from the petitioner that his/her beneficiary (in their opinion/knowledge) has no police record.

The larger question would be, will they put the most weight on the submitted China police report for the period of time in the PRC; or will they insist on also having period of time there was residence in Japan, covered with a supplemental Japanese police report ??

If that is the case, if the report is not currently available, then this most likely would be requested as an overcome item, for submission as soon as it became available to the beneficiary.

Miss Erika, as a southern gentleman, I humbly tell you, Ma'am yaw is much much smarter then to think that those jackASSES in GUZ will even take a look at your case if'n yaw don't have the proper dirty copper certs.

Yer a smart woman Erika, I can only surmise you must have just gotten finished with an especially zesty session with the hubby and yore thinkin' wasn't quite clear when you wrote this. :worthy: Just kick back in the ol' hammock, light up a handrolled Chinese (by Chairman Mao hisowndamnself) ceegar and give yore thinkin' a time to clear up. :P Okay?

I DO hope you guys make that family get together. GUZ, unfortunately doesn't give a shit....to put it politely :worthy:

It's true, I did have a pretty dumb question. Unfortunately it was not due to a toe-curling, sheet-ripping sack session. (Damn that sounds so good right about now)

My hubby and I decided that if we get the interview before the cert that we would go to the interview and expect a blue.

Now, this is pure speculation, but SAY my interview is June 13 (I just chose a date, just imagine, it could be a Saturday) and the actual cert is ready on June 16. In people's past experience/knowledge, would something like this mean that my husband/I could go drop off the cert on the 16th and get a pink (provided, of course, that the blue was PURELY a result of the cert)

I know that's a lot of if statements, but just wondering. Or would we have to wait a sh*t-load of time before he could turn in the doc?

Erika, on the one hand...what you throw up (pun intended) for speculation here sounds reasonable, to reasonable people, but, in the world of GUZ he ain't even gonna get the medical if'n he ain't got the po-leece report to hand in at the clinic.

I shore wish I could tell you somethin' else here :P

Now wait a second here! I'm mean go ahead and have sex now, but somehow I doubt that the medical people are going to look at your papers for content. That is, as long as you have a Chinese police report, I doubt that they would notice that one from Japan was missing.

It seems like someone else had the same problem getting a police report from a third country, and that GUZ is aware of these, but I forget what the outcome was.

In any event, I think your plan of going through with the interview is a good one.

Now please, and no offense to Randy as maybe a miracle may happen in Guano land...but don't even get me started on timelines about blue slips....I went to ACH the very day after my fiancee's interview and the damned VO LIED through his teeth as he told me how strong our case was and how he strongly felt in a month, month and a half that the lil' rabbit should be getting a letter to bring her passport back for the visa!!

Ya shure, you betcha...that was over 10 F'in months ago. I'll be leaving in about 6 weeks to see my funny lil' bunny again and to buy at least one house, if not two houses this trip, and to talk to some schools in her city about teaching english.

You wanna trust the jerks from the DOS with yore life? Take it from a dumbassed shmuck who lost 10 months of his life from trusting those lying bastards to do the right thing, or to even honor their own word....DON'T.

At least, during my insanity of trusting Uncle Scam's "Goobers in Guangzhou" I did spend those 10 months liquidating all my american assests. The last house settles on June 7th and June 9th the money flows from Uncle Scamville to China. I'll soon be on a plane behind the money trail to my soon to be wife. Screw the Goobers in Guangzhou and Uncle Scam, the lil' rabbit and I have a bona fide relationship to live out, we ain't got anymore time for bozos from america wastin' our time.

Sorry to hijack a bit of yore thread, if you and hubby meet me in the Beijing airport while I'm running full speed from the internation side to the domestic to catch my flight up to Shenyang, I'll quickly tip my ol' Aussie hat, shake yore hands, and give you a fancy terlet seat that yaw can hang from the ceiling and spin your way to extreme pleasure...as my apology ;) I'll be the guy in the Aussie hat with a big white Fu Manchu with a centerpiece, wearin' short shorts, flipflops, a silk flowered shirt, and a big ol' silly hillbilly grin on my face.

I don't know if you've explored yet one more avenue - I don't even know if it's POSSIBLE - but .... he went to SCHOOL in Japan - that SCHOOL has some office that moves paperwork around, and they USUALLY answer the phone and field questions. Is there ANY possibility that you can call the school, inquire about this Police Report, see what the answer is? Maybe you'll find that there is some staff liason person there at the SCHOOL that can EASILY handle this, and then you pay them via credit card for the paperwork processing and the DHL shipping. Give it a try, you've nothing to lose at this point.

Scratching my head, it should be in the International Admissions Office - start there first.

Sounds like a good idea, actually. We we all "looked after" by the "International Center". They have all our records, applications, grades, etc. I should give them a call. The only problem with the Japanese report is they always say that the person has to be there themself, because they require fingerprinting.

I should try to give them a call, just to see if there is anything they can do. I wonder if they have his fingerprints on file?? LOL, probably not, but they might have some kind of pull...they are a very good private school funded solely by the most powerful Buddhist group in Japan.

I think I'll have to put my sex on hold for a bit?

Also, to Randy, thank you for your comment...I was thinking the same thing too...maybe the medical staff would overlook the Japanese report and buy us some time...in the rare event that we get the police cert like the day before the interview or something.

I'll just pretend to be offended so that I can get a free toilet seat!!! :sosad: hehe. It's funny, actually, no sense I haul my ass off to Beijing to meet you, when Shenyang is closer to where we are...then you can install it tooooo! Hehehe. Really, though, no need to apologize for hijacking "my" thread. :hump:

Also, though, if it comes down to a choice between a blue slip and postponing the interview, I think to go to the interview is the better deal.

The blue slip may just allow you to bring in the police report whenever you get it. A re-scheduled interview can take months.

Morning sista! no sleep yet....poor thing... :D tell ya hubby no badda you...you ti'ed.....work hard tak'in care his papa'work.....tell him next time no go Japan and make more headache for you... :D

Hope you get your cert soon.......real soon I know it can be a nail bitter.....just a thought......animosity between countries can slow things down taking it out on the innocent bystanders.......

As an option....if you get your interview date and no certificate....it may be better to reschedule the interview than try to overcome the blue....which might add even more time....it may be a bitter pill to swallow but it may save you even more time and lessen the stress....just a thought....

Good luck

Ah - exceptions must be made - here's a nice thought.

When your international center office gets to talking to the police bureau - tell them that it is possible to get the fingerprinting records done REMOTELY if and only if they will trust the local police branch in yer town.

Get the Japanese fingerprinting form (blank version), and video tape the local police man in yer city fingerprinting yer husband. send copy of his invalidated japanese id card, along with copy of his passport (all pages), the fingerprinting card (with the fingerprints) and the video tape back to the police station in japan.

Since one bottom line is that HE can't get to Japan again to show up in person? Please to suggest what I've written here to that 'international center' office staff person, should you run into more hurdles.

I can't say it'd actually work - but at least you've suggested to the police office in Japan a VIABLE work around for the fingerprinting.

and..

GOOD LUCK !

If you're just missing one item they CAN give you an administrative blue within instructions to return (I forget the days and times but it's 2-3 times a week) and submit the missing evidence.

This is the way they handled our daughter's K-2 FTJ as she was following 11 mon ths later.
