IllinoisDave
I just want to make sure before I send this stuff in. We DO NOT have to send original copies of her Birth Certificate and our certified Marriage Certificate correct? Link to comment
tywy_99
Copies are fine, Dave. [/b]Copies. Unless specifically required that an original document be filed with an application or petition, an ordinary legible photocopy may be submitted. Original documents submitted when not required will remain a part of the record, even if the submission was not required. Originals are only required in cases of police/criminal records. jim_julian
Ditto. If you have an interview you might bring the originals with you. Link to comment
dnoblett
USCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD Link to comment
