tsap seui
Jawja boy, I hope yaw ain't askin' me for no damn fashion advice...LOL.. I quit being prim and proper, and trying to blend in, the day I resigned my commission and signed out of Uncle Sam's green machine. Now I've got my own drummer that I march to, and one of his drumsticks is broke so he uses a chicken leg bone. I only own one pair of long pants and one pair of shoes, and they're only for work...when the temp is gonna be less than 50 all day. The lil' rabbit doesn't live in a touristy type city so when I'm in China I get stared at everywhere I go. A stroll in the park winds up with people takin' our photo with their cell phones and people coming up to tell the lil' rabbit to tell me my white fu manchu with the center piece is "very beautiful", and, since the red from the back of my neck has spead to my face, the Chinese seem to be fascinated with my complexion for some reason. Until I met the lil' rabbit all my clothes were made in Australia and New Zealand. Aussie workin' men wear these really comfortable short shorts called "stubbies" or "King Gee's", so in China, I've usually got on a pair of stubbies, some flip flops from New Zealand, and my ever present Aussie hat (made out af a roo hide and named Skippy), along with one of the many silk shirts the lil' rabbit gets some guy to make for me. Look at it like thisa way rat chere Jawja boy, are you goin' to China to fit in, or are ya goin' to see yore woman, be comfortable, and be yore redneck hillbilly self? Poisanally, the only airs I put one for other people is the airs that comes out of ones body when they eat a mess of pinto beans with a good ol' vidalia onion...know wudda mean? I've never been to China as a dang tourist. My trips were for the business of gettin' to know my woman better and for us to grow our relationship. It never crossed my mind to think what others think of me. Did you miss eatin' yore grits this mornin'? Buddy, I hope you have a great trip with your beautiful lady. Since she is from the south you know you could end her name with belle like a proper southern belle. tsap seui Edited October 26, 2007 by tsap seui (see edit history) Link to comment

tsap seui
Chawls, I sincerely hope yaw find a nice home and have a great time on your trip. Are ya gonna be able to meet Steve....I don't know nothin' about south China 'cept that Steve and his lady are down there somehere, maybe you won't even be close. Shucks, I'm gonna be marryin' another "Yankee" belle, 1,500 miles north of that damned Guangzhou. You two have had a long journey and my hopes are that the worm will soon turn for you. Yesterday was the 3 month mark of waitin' for us and last night the lil' rabbit had a moment of weakness as the stress of the uncetainty wore her down. I had to hang up and I thought of what guys like you and Steve and Mike and the others like Rick have been through with their ladys. Hopefully most CFL guys will only have to worry about those lil' waits for the NVC, P3, P4 and never have to feel what the REAL WAIT is all about. I'm so sick and tired of wakin' up every mornin' with blue slippers on my feet, but it's just the lot we were given and we have no choice but to soldier up and slog our ways through this shit. I keep the goal in focus, I think of what Steve and you are going through and I think of the joy I felt when Rick's lady got to come to America and I think of the elation in Mike's voice when Rong came home last week. I know we will all get our wimmin here eventually. Hell, I've hurt inside worse for you and Steve than I have allowed myself to hurt for me but I know one day....ONE FREAKIN' DAY...one day the worm will turn for us all. By the way, I called the lil' rabbit back and soon got to hear her soft laughter and the bitterness vanish as we talked. Just another day in GUZ limbo........... Have a great time bubba, you two deserve a long and happy future. tsap seui Jawja boy, there was an old Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young song that had David Crosby singin' the words, "It's been a long time coming" ....at least I think that was the words in that great song (it was the 60's man, and as they say, "the sixties, if you remember them...you weren't there) Anyhow, we'll all make it to our dreams. Steve and Ying are a good ways from GZ. I had told Steve that I wished I had time cause I really would like to see them. Believe me I remember CSNY But I do remember the 60's as I was still in high school then. Now the 70's that was a different matter I am certain that Steve and yourself will precede me in getting the visa and I doggone well expect this!!! One day we will all have a get together here in the states. Oh what a glorious day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Link to comment
Guest ShaQuaNew
There is a rule, or should be about shorts. If you look like this, DON"T! http://i20.tinypic.com/25rl30z.jpgJee, Jess...that rules out just about all of us. That's not you, Lan and daughter? Naw...I didn't think so. Nice pics, not.................... My Dear SO saw a tour group while in Beijing of some very large Amerian women and asked are they all like that?? What do you think I am doing here?? Lan are Sarah would blow away in a stiff wind. I must admit that I've put on a few pounds since their arrival last summer. Link to comment
chilton747
Well I saw quite a few Chinese people wearing shorts in Zhongshan but not a single sole wearing sunglasses. My wife had no problem with me wearing shorts there but the weather did turn a little cool at night (approx 65). That was a bit cool to be riding on the motorcycle taxis Edited November 9, 2007 by chilton747 (see edit history) Link to comment
jbray
My wife wears sun glasses all the time... Wear what you wear here. No matter what you wear, people will be staring, pointing, and laughing. So, if you wear shorts, what's the difference... Link to comment
David&Wendy
Wearing shorts isn't a problem. I lived in Shenzhen for a year. Many days during August - October were so hot that I wore t-shirts and shorts. I'd wear a collared shirt and pants if I was going shopping because usually they keep the western malls chilly.
