Deleted topic "The latest excuse"

All,

I do understand that everyone is frustrated, and probably needs to vent, which is why I have allowed this thread to go on this long and have not deleted any posts.

However, I do ask everybody to please keep in mind ...

Flaming, name-calling, or slandering elected government officials and government organizations is forbidden. The United States government already has a Herculean task in balancing security with reuniting families. Understanding and creating positive interest about our situation is what is needed, not anger and insults.

If you wish to post obscene statements and attack others please understand that there are plenty of boards that condone and allow this. However, throughout this whole process, I have been hoping that we can have a positive and supportive environment. Please understand that I am also caught in the delay process and am just as frustrated as everyone else, but I would prefer to channel this frustration in a postitive manner and sincerely ask everyone else to do the same.

Thanks,

P.J.

Mark,

No problem, you didn't say anything wrong. I just felt that the thread was becoming extremely negative and filled with obscenities. I understand and empathize that everyone is frustrated. I know that it will happen from time to time that we get frustrated and upset, but I just hope that we can try to keep this a positive place where we support one another.

Thanks,

P.J. :P

Frank,

Please remember we are all in the same boat.

This is a great place to share good information.

We all feel the same about this situation, but anger will not fix this.

A team effort is needed by all.

I know it is much better than G7, just look at the postings.

Lets think of what we can do together to make this problem go away.

Sounds like we need you to call Powells office, hehehehehehe

Jim,

Have I ever said, or even remotely implied, that I should be allowed to go to the front of the line, in front of anyone else? I deeply resent your suggestion that I have. My application was filed in October 2001, approved in January 2002, with interview in early August, 2002. So please forgive me for getting a little frustrated when I read about November 2002 interviewees getting their visas ahead of not only my fiancee, but the hundreds, if not thousands, who interviewed prior to November. I don't know about you, but that strikes me as just a wee bit inequitable, to say the very least.

At a time when the Trent Lott issue is hot and heavy in the news, this whole nightmare reminds me, to a certain extent, of the civil rights struggle of the 60's. No, the suffering we have experienced does not remotely compare to that endured by African_Americans during that sad chapter in our history. But the truth is that our civil/human rights ARE being violated, in a rather arbitrary and capricious way. Do you think things would have changed for African-Americans in this country if Dr. King, Medgar Evers, Rosa Parks, and some of the other great civil rights leaders had taken the approach you advocate and just sat back and said "Oh well. We just have to be patient and wait until the government gets around to taking action on this issue. After all, everything will be allright in the end" ? OF COURSE NOT.

What Frank and I are trying to say is that we should not be lulled into complaceny simply because a small amount of light has appeared at the end of the tunnel. I have gone out of my way to be polite and civil in ALL of my dealings with GZ, and I will be more than happy to provide you with copies of my e-mails to the info team there if you do not believe me. Many of us are angry, discouraged, and disillusioned, and we have every right to be.

Well said James....It's one thing to complain and disagree. It's another to be mean and disrespectful..... If they choose to leave, it is their loss (and probably the loss of the next board they visit.)

Eric,

Basically, Frank got "postal" here, got mad when his profane post was deleted for violating the terms, and left the group in a huff.

We all understand, and feel, his anger and we all feel like mushrooms at times. However, he was angry at the whole group for taking it easy on GZ for the time being so they could do their work. Funny though. My post a week ago, about cutting GZ some slack, CAME from a GZ post.

So, i'm sure Frank will find some reason to be pissed at them as well.

I still read G7 and CUC, just as we all watch ABC and CNN. However, this forum, with its marvelous organization, is much easier to follow and has more critical mass, than the others.

It's his loss, not ours.

Brian
