1. When my fiance arrives here, can we apply for a SSN right away or do we need to wait until we marry. (nd how long will it take?)

2. What process do we need to complete so she can travel back to China and still be allowed to return to the USA?

3. When will she receive an alien number? None of the paperwork she has received to date indicates she has one yet.

Thanks.

ive seen folks get their GC in 1 month, its been 10 months for us so far and still nothin'

i thought when they transfered us from orlando they'd be a little quicker :)

It should be any time for you, Orlando is one of the slow offices, June 2007 report shows Orlando close to 240 days average to process.

Wait 2 weeks from entry into the country and then apply for SSN at local SSA office, we waited until married and applied using married name, but from some reports, you can encounter morons in the SSA office, and they sometimes have problems issuing using married name.

File for AP 4 months or so before planed travel date, (I-131) you may have green card before then and green-card allows travel

Look at notice of action letter for the I-129F, A number should be printed above beneficiary's name.
