Thank you, Dan! I am a little confused. Since this is the AOS stage, does a K-1 visa holder, the I-485 applicant, become the petitioner?

 

Yep, the NON USC becomes the petitioner/applicant. But the USC spouse will need to be the financial sponsor--or at least one of sponsors.

Yes, but applicant is the correct word. The petitioner for the original K-1 visa is still the same person.
