lyscra
Hello, I have a question. I did not file taxes in 2004 because I was unemployed. When getting the visa they simply wanted the tax transcripts. The I-864 wants the numbers and says "(or most recent)". How do I deal with this? Any advice would be much appreciated Thanks in advance Link to comment

You call the same number you called to get the transcript. Write a brief note telling them that you weren't employed and that you didn't make enough for 2004 to file a tax return. If you worked and filed for 2005 and 2006, that should be enough. I wouldn't even worry about tax year 2004. Link to comment
jbray
you probably don't need to worry about it... But, I would back file. You won't need to pay any fines or anything... I had to back file 2 years. It wasn't a big deal. Link to comment
