hello again more questions

where do I send this application being I will be sending EAD along with application will this be an employment based I-485 application if so then do I mail to NSC

seems there are 2 places Chicago or Nebraska

I am in Minnesota and I am filing K-1 AOS

And I was reading on the instructions sheet that you can write out 1 check I-485 and biometric total $395 is this correct?.

but looking at the AOS FAQ I notice that everyone is mailing two checks.

So do i mail in 2 checks or just one?

I know to write payable to DOS and I assume that down on the memo line state what it is for is this correct ?

And on the AP application what if at this time we have no date for travel? do we just skip or put in an assumed date?

Your AOS application is family, not employment, based. The EAD is a separate application. Your choice as to the number of checks,

but looking at the AOS FAQ I notice that everyone is mailing two checks
payable to the Dept. Of Homeland Security, not DOS.

and put an approximate date on your AP application.

You send both I-485 and I-765 together to the Chicago Lock Box

Family-Based Applications

If you are filing for lawful permanent resident status based on a family relationship with a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent

resident, file your I-485 at:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

P.O. Box 805887

Chicago, IL 60680-4120

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

An employment based I-485 is for work visas, not family visa like the K-Visas

- Send the AOS, EAD, and AP packages in the same envelope, with a cover letter, to the Chicago address. There it is checked for completeness and parsed out for processing.

- The multiple check theory is that if one item/part of your filings is return because of administrative reasons, such as RFE, the other parts can proceed without delay. I recommend a check for biometrics and checks for AOS, AP, and EAD

- The checks are payable to USCIS and they don't care what you write on the memo line. Read the USCIS website for the latest fees and dates associated with those fees.

- AP requires justification. You need to have compelling business or a personal emergency. Read the USCIS website.
