waldowaldos
My wife received her Advanced Parole which took 3 months. We have two questions: (1) how can she stay out of the USA without voiding it; and (2) on the bottom right of the form there is a box ¡°National Benefits Center Parole Stamp, what is this? It is not stamped. My wife had her AOS interview in January and passed without any problems. The interviewer didn¡¯t ask her or me much of anything. She only asked my wife the questions that were on I-485 and only asked me why I was in China when we met. Other than that she only asked for a few papers ¨C our passports and letter from my employer. The interviewer explained she couldn¡¯t give the green card yet because the security checks hadn¡¯t been completed. She said just wait and it will come when the security checks are done. Also, she explained that until the green card comes, my wife needs an advanced parole to travel. Thanks for all your help. Link to comment

To use the form a second time, have a copy of it that you can leave with the Immigrations Officer. You must have with you both the original and the copy.(2) Ours has a stamp immediately above where it says National Benefits Center Parole Stamp. The box is not stamped. Link to comment
jim_julian
We've traveled twice on Lao Po's Advance Parole. Ours is specifically a multi entry AP. I understand some are single entry. Don't know which you have. The box in the lower right on ours is labeled "Arrival Stamp" and, indeed, that's where they stamp it on re-entry. They also put a paroled for one year stamp in her Chinese passport. As far as how long the trip can be ... don't know. There is an expiration date on the front ... clearly you can't be gone longer than that. Both of our trips were about three weeks in duration, one to China and one to the United Arab Emirates. The first time US Immigration took the second copy with the photo mounted. The second time Immigration didn't make a copy. Of course we retain the original as we may use it again. In both cases air lines (China Southern and American Airlines) looked at the expired K1 visa in her passport and accepted her to fly to the US. This is, of course, an error on their part as they should have asked for a copy of the AP ... but I'm an advocate on not volunteering anything as airlines are not very familiar with AP. LeeFisher3
Arrive back before it expires, my wife went to China one week after our AOS interview and we returned together almost 2 months later. Do be prepared for a bit more time at the POE as she will have to go to a brief inspection/interview upon arrival. When we came in she was the first in the room so we didn't need to wait. By the time they finished processing her there were about 30 people waiting. Link to comment
