tonado
Today I received a jury duty notice and I thought it can't be for me because I just served last year in Sept. Then I noticed the mail is for my wife. How did they screw up? She is not even a Citizen. Only US Citizen can serve Jury Duty. I will respond back to them that she is disqualified from serving. How did they get her name? It must be from the Motor Registry. Link to comment

You may need to show the courts. http://www.mass.gov/courts/jury/disquali.htm Link to comment

Then she needs to hound the court for her citizenship papers, because they only have US citizens on a jury and they wouldn't have called her if she wasn't. Link to comment

She can do that, but any case with a non-citizen on the jury would be thrown out. I believe they have to sign a statement to the effect that they are qualified for jury duty. Link to comment
chilton747
That's funny that you mention that Tony. I just got in the mail a jury duty questionairre for my parents. They have been dead for 7 and 9 years. Link to comment
Urkidding
My wife has rec'd 2 notices Qualifies for 2 ¨C disqualifications ¨C non US Citizen and Custodian of a 3 year old. Yes they do get the names from the DMV, which means they use a shotgun effect because of all of the non-citizens that we have especially here in Texas¡ Edited January 28, 2007 by Urkidding (see edit history) Link to comment

tywy_99
The link below was on my email at work this morning. It made me think of Tony's post here. I don't know why the IT security geeks sent it out this morning when the FBI notice was from over a year ago. I guess you can say, "What comes around, goes around?"... FBI Jury Scam Link to comment
