notarial translations

Recommended Posts

We are waiting for our P3 and i would like to have information on notarial translations

what documents? I know that My SO needs to have her Birth cert. Translated into english and noterized. But what other Docs?? Where does the cost come in?

She has never been married so we dont have divorce papers to worry about.

Thank you

The newer EZ-FAQ has the following:

http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19303

The documents needed to be translated from Chinese to English for k-1:

- Marital / Single certificate (valid for one year)

- Divorce certificate (if applicable, does not expire)

- Birth certificate (does not expire)

- Police Certificates (valid for one year)

The process starts at the city where the hukou ( register) is maintained.. Not where SO currently lives, unless that is where hukou (household register) is registered.

Then there is alot more info that follows on each one... So best to see the link...

Most get about three copies of each item needed; Expect to pay around RMB 1500-3000. It might take up to 2 weeks to get them..

I would recommend getting them after you return P3 (the P3 appears to imply to get them before returning the P3, but this is not the case; return the P3 ASAP; then collect them)
