Part of the DS-2001 Notification of Applicant Readiness is document checklist.

one item is child custody order. My SO has a Daughter, She is not part of the application for a visa. Her Ex-husband has full custody.

Do we need a copy of the custody order or is this only If She was bringing her to the US with her.

If the daughter is not coming to the US there is no need to prove custody.
