Converting Chinese electronics to USA 110

Recommended Posts

And no, I won't buy one from China. My wife did that, and it took a while for the smell of melted plastic to get out of the house!!!

She has a couple devices that are Chinese 220V tri-plug and she wants to use them here. One device is some sort of therapeutic infrared gizmo that I was at first skeptical of, but it does work. At least for the 20 minutes before the converter she bought melted.

My first clue it might be 'jia de' is when it had a hand written sticker over the top of the electronic sticker that had 110V and 220V opposite what was under the sticker. I think someone reversed it in house, and thought it would work. Scary. Seeing this, I kept a good eye on it, so it didn't melt too much before I unplugged it. :D  :D :D

My wife was very angry. She wanted to hit the vendor over the head with it :P

So needless to say I need another, and if anyone knows where I can get one, I would surely appreciate it!!!
