Fun with Coin Operated Scales

"A funny thing happened on the way to the forum..." we came across a coin operated scale. The missus wished to see how much she weighed. 120 pounds. She's not a happy camper. I get on the scale-- 230 pounds. I tell her the scale is incorrect (I haven't been at 230 for YEARS) but she isn't having any of it.

 

Her: I'm getting fatter.

Me: You eat more ice cream now than you used to.

Her: No I don't.

Me: You don't get as much excercise as you used to.

Her: Not true. Here we drive everywhere, before I would take the bus everywhere.

Me: Well, you're getting older.

Her: Eh?

Me: As people get older people slowly put on weight.

Her: Yes. You weigh so much you must be ancient!

We did that, only at a street vendor in GZ. She gets on and it says 49kg. She is unhappy. I reminder she is dressed and has shoes on, so that adds maybe 1kg, and she seems happier.

 

I get on... 102kg. "Oh my God" was her reply. I'm pretty pleased, since I was also dressed with shoes on. I've since dropped down to 221 (100.5kg), and couldnt be happier.

 

Not as funny a story, but I guess I am ancient too. (lol)
