The NOA Wait....

Despite my gut telling me it wouldn't help, still I called USCIS just now to see if I could get any information as to my case status......

....after wading my way thru all the computerized prompts, I eventually got to the place to enter my case number. I entered it, and the system retrieved the same information I already had. So, I moved forward to camp online for a real person.....

....Thirty minutes later, a lady answered who sounded like she was Chong's sister from Cheech and Chong.....I almost started to ask her if she knew where Dave was....... :o

So, I took my couple of questions, and never got a good answer to either. The first of course, what's the status of my case. She replied, well...I see that the CSC has just updated their database and is now processing I-129F cases with a receipt date of June 30, 2005. Before today, it was June 17, 2005.

She had no additional information as to why it was taking longer, and said she could do nothing until the CSC lists a processing date for I-129F applications of July 6, 2005. Frustrating, but that day is coming soon...one week eh.....In any event something tells me I will find out nothing more on that day either.

I also asked her why USCIS requested that my I-129F package be sent to Texas and then sent it off to California. I never did get a good answer on this one either. She said something about local centers not processing I-129F?? I didn't think the TSC was a local processing center. Confused.... :o

Anyway...I called.....nothing more to add....

hang in there... You seem a little behind what VJ is reporting for May submissions - NOA2... but you've got to be close !! :o

I think the reference to local centers is the four Visa Centers... we file our I-129F fiancee petition to the 'local' center serving our state.

For anyone... Here's some links on the centers and an easy to use form to see processing times...

Visa Centers:

VSC – Vermont Service Center

TSC – Texas Service Center

CSC – California Service Center

NSC – Nebraska Service Center

Texas is the Local Center that residents of Florida are directed to mail their I-129F applications. I agree, you have listed four local centers in your post David, those being...

California

Vermont

Texas

Nebraska

Each of those centers is listed as processing I-129F applications. So, why did Texas send my application to California, and didn't send yours there?

In a work, "Backlog".. :o otherwise, it would sit and take longer to process at Texas.

For a while, Nebraska was also sending to CSC. There was debate whether this is happening, but the only way to really tell is to see if people are putting the transfer in their timeline.

VJ has discussed at times what other responsibilities some of the centers have to do (ie: Texas handling Mexican issues; Nebraska handling Canadian issues)...

What is maybe most surprising is that they don't transfer them to VSC !!!
