geo1965
I'm wondering if anyone has had their Fiancee Visa (K-1) case sent from Guangzhou to the State Department in DC (Consular Office) for a decision that will be made by a Security Advisory Committee? In our case, it seems the main reason is because of my Chinese fiancee's former membership in the Communist Party. If anyone has had this experience, do you have any advice? How long did it take for the decision? After the decision, if it is in our favor, do they send the case back to Guangzhou for further processing? Etc. Etc. Link to comment
bubbafred10
geo1965 - I wonder why your fiancee's case has to go to the Advisory Security Committee. Is your fiancee or are you in scientific field? Or perhaps your or her associates? US top security paranoia of China is the import of people with scientific minds who can read and pass scientific research information. Or perhaps she has high academic achievements, and one of those who can learn anything and everything? On the other hand, it could be coup for US as well. Link to comment

vibes1313
Maybe coincidental, but about 3 weeks ago one of my English students (sponsored at UC Berkeley for his PhD) had his interview for his F1 in GZ and was told the same thing, and he should expect an answer in 1 or 2 months.
