shutterme2
My wife is a Lawyer in China, and is thinking of studying law here, Does anyone know what the requirements would be in the state of California? Does The bar recognize her college degree? Can she just go straight to Law school? I have looked on the web many times, but I am always failed! Your help would be greatly appreciated on this topic! Dan R
In the L.A. area there are many lawyers practicing in both California and China. The ones I have asked had to take law school and the bar exam. Enough credits should transfer from China to qualify for the two year prelaw education. Perhaps some schools will accept other credits for transfer. This is up to the school. Here is Loyola Law School's program http://lls.edu/academics/jdintro.html Link to comment
NY-Viking
The requirements are listed on this page: http://calbar.xap.com/Applications/CalBar/...xam/default.asp Click on the link on that page that says "Foreign educated applicants". Your wife will probably need to attend law school in the U.S., and all schools will have their own requirements. But it's worth checking out if she can get around that. Link to comment
