Beginning on April 27, everyone has to pick up the visa at the post office just down the street from the consulate late the next day, or the morning of the following day. If you live in Guangdong, though, they can mail it to you.

My interview was easy, and my officer was a nice Chinese-American lady. She asked questions in both English and Chinese. I answered in both English and Chinese. Some of the questions:

Who is your petitioner?

How and when did you meet?

On what date did you first meet in person?

Where did you go?

Why was your first meeting so short?

How many times has he visited you?

What are the dates?

What is his job?

What company does he work for?

May I see his income tax returns?

Why the difference in his income between 2003 and 2004?

May I see your support document?

She then handed me the approval paper, and explained how to receive my visa at the post office.

It took about five minutes.

We did not attend the information session.

Hey, great news !

We're eager to hear anything about the new process:

1) Did you attend American Citizen hour and did they talk about the new process?

2) Any reports of someone getting a 'purple' (old white slip) and then later getting a blue at pickup?

3) Do interviews appear to still be about 5-10 minutes max. No extra time in new process?

4) Suspect any problems with the pickup now at the post office...

thanks and enjoy the rest of your life together!!
