Basically before this action it appeared relatively easy for travelers over 40 with significant ties to come to USA from China. However, it was a major problem for anyone (especially FEMALES) under 40. My wife immigrated legally and my stepdaughter has applied to do so as well. We have filed for her last year. However while we wait out the 10 year waiting period it would be nice if she could travel to USA to visit us (as well as make some connections so she can get employment here in 10 years when her immigration visa spot opens up. Currently (since she has applied for an immigration VISA and therefore shown an intention to immigrate) she is unable to get a tourist visa (since the US "assumes" she will stay as an illegal immigrant).. Anyone heard of any chance that people in her situation (who are actually trying to follow the law) might be able to come on a tourist visa for "legitimate tourism"? Even if she was unscrupulous (which she is not!), the Florida economic (no jobs) situation alone is pretty much a 100% guarantee she will leave the US and return to her good job in China.
