  1.

We had a disaster in Guangzhou. our visa was denied by Consular Officer.
My wife was in the US for 13 yrs, we are married 6. with attorney help we filed 601a
and I did previous i130, 864 and DS 260. all approved.
Lawyer said no problem, we always get visa, only a couple of relationship questions.
we were ambushed by CO, not a nice guy. he was aggressive in questions, zeroing in
on entry to US issues. My wife was nervous and intimidated.
Slammed -denied without any written or verbal explanation. no
name of CO, no supervisor review.
She is now stranded in China, me back in US alone. I'm dying w/o her.
Warning DO NOT leave US for consular interview. be 110% certain.
get second legal opinions. this is clearly my lawyers fault. the interview prep
mentioned none of these possibilities. I would give up the green card we don't have to get her back.
The GC is not necessary to be comfortable in US, especially if older.
there are many incompetent lawyers, many turn over work to ignorant paralegals.
I hope and expect to get 601 prepared & approved, but I got to figure out exactly where
the wheels came off this time.
I read the processing times run 9 months.
consider your risks. they will deny very easily, w/o compassion or legal representation.

  2. My wife and I stayed at the Grand Palace Hotel near the Visa office for a week. Very nice hotel with a price ($100.00/688 rmb a night). Breakfast (western and asian style) was free and received hotel coupons for lunch/diner, drinks and laundry.

  3. My fiance and i went through the ATL POE. We spent about 1 1/2 hours waiting in line just to see the 1st IO due to all the international flights. We spent about 30 minutes going through the "immigration" processing. The IO only asked us if we understood the 90 day criteria. So it helps to accompany your fiance/wife.

    :)

  4. Okay.....my fiancee received a Pink yesterday. Here are some details:

-After fingerprinting and waiting 2 hours my fiancee was called to the VO booth. The VO was a young asian lady long black hair. Overall she was serious and asked many questions.

-She asked for I-134, letter of employment, tax transcript/w2 (she kept these), pictures, and chat messages and emails.

    -Some of the questions were:

    --How did you meet?

--What did you do in school (major)?

--Why do you want to leave school early?

--Do you and your fiance have a child?

    --Asked for fiance's son name?

    --Were you all married before?

--When you do you plan to marry?

    --Why do you love him?

--What qualities do you like the most and dislike about him?

--What else do you know of him?

--What does your fiance do? (note: the VO was kind of confused about my specific job in my profession)

--Asked about age difference and if it mattered?

--When did you all get engaged?

--When did he present the engagement ring? (note: be able to explain if the engagement time is different than ring presentation)

--How many times you where visited by your fiance, where and when?

--How many brothers and sisters do your fiance have?

--Asked again on how did you meet (matchmaker).

***Overall quite few questions where asked. My fiancee showed her the pictures (as a couple, both family) and passport with drivers license. Details of my occupation did confuse her but, my beautiful and smart fiancee was able to explain to her.

***I recommend looking over the CFL "kitchen sink list/questions".....my fiancee benefitted a lot from studying the questions....i did not use a attorney, i feel the info/correspondence from CFL website and VJ wasmore than enough.

    Mr. Yang:

--My fiancee "reserved" a single suite (1 bdrm/ 1bthrm) over 6 weeks prior to the interview date with mr. Yang. Mr. Yang called my fiancee the date of our arrival/"check in" and left a meesage. He stated that he did not have room but, we could stay with his "aunt" and he will accompany us to the hospital for the medical processing (we ended up taking the subway to the medical college downtown...painless). So we at 2330 pm we were at the airport (note: he also agreed to pick us up at the airport when we "booked" the room) with no accomodations and transportation. We ended up taking the last bus to the Tian he area (citic plaza) and we took a taxi from there to the Grand Palace Hotel. Overall very nice hotel, a little bit pricey but breakfast for 2 and another meal a day for 2 was free. The room included a safe. The hotel was close to the Visa office, train/bus/subway station/, 3 malls, starbucks and othe food establishments.

*****Base on our situation, I recommend having a back up plan when it comes to accomodations and transportation especially if only your SO will be traveling.

*****Mr Yang's needs to have a scheduling system/tracker.

Good luck for those members who are still waiting for an interview.

    :romantic: :)

  5. She's in her second year at the University right now. We've both decided that she will restart school here. She's studying English right now so none of the credits will transfer and none of the politics (marx and mao's theories) will transfer either. She's pretty much back at square one anyways.

    Thanks for the input all!

They should transfer, doesnt matter it was not taught in English.

I am in the same situation. Praying on a interview before the end of the summer. She is in her third year. Just departed for home for the winter break.
