  1. Once DOS has denied the visa, you must wait until the petition is returned to the USCIS. They may send you a notice to appeal or they may just let the K1 petition die, I mean expire.

Mine was returned from Guangzhou 10 months ago. Has anyone here ever heard from them for an appeal? I noticed in my 129f instructions I am supposed to ask for a waiver to reapply.(less than 2 years since 1st 129F) I cant find a form for that. I guess I am supposed to just write a letter. Anyone done that before?

  2. I settled on Galaxy3c and the CCTV channels it has. CCTV4 is chinese CCTV9 is english.(they also have french and spanish)

It sounds like mandarin most of the time. i was watching something last night that sounded different and was subtitled in simplified chinese. I suspect they were speaking cantonese. i think that is still most common in the studio districts of HongKong(Jackie Chans native tongue I believe)

  3. I got a FTA satellite system working this weekend. I have several options for channels of Chinese interest but, I am not sure what is spoken on them. I am almost certain CCTV will be mandarin. Some cahnnels are taiwan based though. Does anyone know if they speak mandarin in taiwan. It sounds a little different and I am not catching many words. I do not want to confuse myself listening to the wrong dialect than what Rosetta Stone teaches. unsure.gif

  4. I have never had any problems with customs taking long in Newark. But I also do not normaly check luggage. Getting your checked bags takes longer than customs in my experience.(remeber to take the train between terminals. walking requires more security checks.)

Most of my flights have gone well. this past visit was my first problem. I did not know the ticket window in Beijing was only open from 2 -3:45. Showed up at 4 for my 5 oclock flight and was greeted by a dark terminal. $250 to reschedule.

  5. They always want to blame fast food. Its not the food, its the additives. The additives are found in fast food and prepackaged food. Countries turning to prepackaged food are starting to have health problems, they need to learn from our mistakes... If its Hydrogenated, Modified, Hydrolized or Sodomized it does not belong in your food!

  6. Just curious if the idea of a class action suit against DOS has ever been tossed around?

Everyone who is denied a VISA is being called a liar. An engagement/marriage is a partnership. They are calling us both liars! :roller:

It is the basis of western law that you have a chance to confront your accuser and have access to all evidence being used in the accusation. We are being denied that. They seem to sit on our petitions indefinately and hope we just go away.

  7. I am not sure what you mean by A# and G#. I am only aware of the reciept number (WAC###).

How do you get a supervisor. I just keep getting told they do not know anything more than whats on the website. They tell us not to try and correspond for 180 days. I do not wish to piss anyone off with constant calls. But doing nothing seems dangerous.

Apples and oranges. Two different issues. Blue slip is for petition still in GUZ. You will still have a chance at overcoming at the consulate with additional material. Once you get the white denial GUZ washes their hands of it and kicks it back stateside. The window between the two is very small and that is the only time[iMHO] a local lawyer there might be able to help and keep it there. GUZ[DOS] and wherever you filed stateside[uSCIS] are two different animals. They look at the petition with different agendas. The white denial letter [which you as petitioner should get a copy of] has specific reasons listed. LiWen and mine got "lost" between NVC and Nebraska. larsenea, start calling wherever you filed and ask for a supervisor. Give them the A# and G#. Make sure they understand you DON'T want to abandon the petition. Make sure you get their name and tell them you will be calling back to check what they have found out. Try and get their extension #. They aren't the enemy... firm but polite. They already approved.

  8. Starting to feel like I am getting somewhere. I played telephone tag this past 2 weeks trying find my petition. I wanted to confirm GUZ had actually sent it like the letter Guijuan got suggested. The letter said we would have to contact the office I originaly applied to. that was CSC. I called the National number and got a lady who filed a request for info for me. 1 week later i got an email from CSC stating they had no further information since they approved the petition one year ago.

So i call the national number again and explain how GUZ tells me who should have the petition. They file another request for info and also suggest I call the NVC.

I call the NVC and they say that thier computer does show the petition is in the states but doesnt say who has it. they tell me to call State Dept.

I call state dept. Crap! they are closed on wednesday.

I call again thursday. they say that the CSC should have my petition. That it just showed up in thier system this week. they confirm for me that CSC is the office responsible for the final denial and revoking.

Being a holiday i have to wait till monday to call them again. At least i feel that the waiting is coming to a close. That i should have answers i can plan around in a couple weeks.

If they approve the revokeing I ahve to decide whether to spend $500 bucks on an appeal or put it torwards a wedding.

  9. Based on you photos, you should think about changing you image.

You look too much like a stoner.

A guy just along for the ride.

Remember who you are dealing with.

    Good Luck

    :)

Pete it is clear to me that you would make the perfect VO! Judging others with such malicious intent is right up their alley and by the statement you made to Larry, you fit the bill perfectly.

Unfortunately he may have a point. I have been accused of being stoned my whole life :o yet, I do not even drink or smoke. Its just the way I look.

  10. The USCIS website says that I have to appeal to the office that denied us. Is that GUZ? or is that an office here in the US that I have yet to here from. Guijuan is going to send me copies of what they just sent her. I am assuming that I will recieve the actual decision and appeal forms from someone here in US. the website is a little vague. I noticed I only have 30 days to appeal from their decision date, not the date i recieve papers. very sadistic.

  11. Thanks guys, your info has given me some new avenues to explore I had not thought of. I was planning on asking my congressman to be a little more agressive this time and require real answers. I was also interested in finding more ears to pull. I did leave a message at the DOS website but, have yet to hear back. I also was not sure how soon to start my request but, I am starting to think after four months I am not being unreasonable.

  12. While In Fushun I experienced the usual "man out of place looks". One of the most obvious of these cam from a dog. I was waiting outside Guijuans apartment with her brother and a cab driver. There are dozens of people wandering around not paying much attention to me. From over a block away, this toy dog spots me and immediatly realizes I am not like the others. He starts barking like mad and running at me at full speed. Literaly runs into me before he can stop. He let me pet him until his owner caught up to him and carried him off.

The only other attention I noticed was while in GUZ was from women. I got the impression when I was walking with Guijuan, women were looking at us with disgusted looks on their faces. I do not think I am that ugly so i assume they just do not approve of her being with me. I never asked her about it.
