Last week I arrived at the USA, having IR-1 visa.
As far as I understood, I need to go to the nearest SSN office and apply for my SSN, what shall I do next?
Thank you,

Good day,
My interview day is coming up soon and there are couple things i am not sure about, so please tell me if i understood everything correctly:
1) Security regulations says that its not allowed to bring your mobile phone with you, but if my memory is fine, i remember that at the entrance of the Consulate there are some lockers where i could leave my phone and bag, can anyone confirm if i am right?
2) if i understood correctly, i do not have to pay anything at the Consulate on the day of the interview, but later, when the visa is in the pasport( but i am not yet at the USA) i must pay the USCIS immigrant fee, is that correct?
Thank you for your help,
Natalia

Hello, everyone!
I have a question - while we were waiting for approval of i-130 and so on our marrige had our 2nd year anniversary. Yesterday we got an email regarding the appointment for the interview. But in order to do that we have to chose the category of the visa. Do we have to select CR1 (as it mentioned at the i-130) or IR1 (because last week we had 2nd year anniversary)?
Kind regards,
Nataliia

Good day everyone,
I am currently fulfilling online petition DS-260, and i have a trouble with this question"
Is your spouse immigrating to the U.S. with you?
Yes
No"
Well, my husband is US citizen, who is currently living with me in China. He is moving with me to the USA, obviously, but he is not immigrating. What would be the right answer - yes or no?

Forgot to ask about one more thing. I got my non criminal record (for the time when i lived in Russia) in Russian consulate in Shanghai. Its in English. Did i have to notirize it? or legalize at the consulate?
-
Thank you for the reply. We sent them an email couple days ago. their answer was that they are still processing our petition.
Didn't expect it would take so long

Great, thank you!

Hello everyone!
We are still waiting for approving our i-130 petition, but i am already planning my documents for the interview. And i was thinking about one thing - couple years ago i had my documents (birth certificate and so on) translated (into English) and notirised in Russia. Will it be enough for the Embassy or shall i make additional translation in China?
Kind regards,
Natalia

I went through this difficult process back in August and I'll tell you how I had to do it.
1. Go to your PSB (with your passport) and explain to them what you want. They will give you a form (mine was in a sealed envelope) that you will need to take to your local police station. It should be the police station where you registered when you entered China. I had to ask my university for this information.
2. You need to get proof of your residence/reason you are in China. I had to ask my university to provide a stamped document (in Chinese) saying that I was employed with them, including dates, passport number etc. Make a few copies of this.
3. Go to your local police station (bring passport, passport photos, and the proof of employment letter) and ask them to fill out the form stating that they have no knowledge of your criminal record. This should only take a few minutes.
4. Take all of these documents to your PSB and they will have you fill out a few more forms there or request additional information.
5. You pay the fee at the PSB (mine was 600RMB) and they will call you when it is ready. Mine took about 2 weeks.
I know the process probably differs in different areas (this was in Wenzhou, Zhejiang) but it's somewhere to start. I was going crazy for about a month before I got it figured out. They don't really seem to know the process so be persuasive that this is what you need!
Hello! Thank you so much for detailed instruction! Could you please tell me how long did it take you to get that police record?
Kind regards,
Nataliia

Hello everyone!
We need your advise. Background is following - we are couple of married foreigners who are currently living (working visa) in China and planning our relocation to the USA (my husband is from the USA and I am from Ukraine)
.
On September 6th we have applied our i-130 petition at the Consulate in Guangzhou.
On 18th of October we got their email with the request to give them an additional postal address, as they sent a letter to providen address, but it was not delivered. In a couple days we got their mail with the request of sending them our passport size photos. The date on the letter, however, was listed as September 19th. We sent them photos asap and still then we haven't heard anything from them.
Shall we send them and email or just wait?
Kind regards,
Natalia

Hello! You (well, your husband) will submit document, pay and have an interview at the same day. Make sure you have enough money or bank card (just RMB; Master card or Visa, if I am not mistaken).
It may take one-two weeks to get your passport back.
Good luck!
