  1. Thank you for the fast response, one more question.

Please enter the 'A-Number' and 'Case ID' provided to you by the Department of State at the time you were issued your Immigrant Visa. The 'A-Number' you list must be 9 digits in length. If your 'A-Number' is fewer than 9 digits, you must insert the necessary amount of zeros (0) after 'A' and before your number to create a 9 digit entry. For example, provide A000012345 for A12345.

My wife's visa doesn't actually have A in front of the number and isn't 9 digits in length. It's just 8. Should I add it in myself? Like A000012345.

Also for the Case number, I can't add in the last number on her visa. it seems to be at it's limit?

    I got these errors below:

    A-Number does not contain a valid pattern (e.g. A012345678).

ERROR: A-Number does not contain a valid pattern (e.g. A012345678).
ERROR: You have entered an invalid DOS Case ID. Please recheck your USCIS Immigrant Fee handout from the Department of State (DOS). The DOS Case ID should look like the following example: ABC1234567890

  2. I just wanted to thank everyone who helped us prepare for our interview.

Some things that she was asked:

    Who's the petioner

    What's my job

She asked to see the medical papers

    What was her co-sponsors occupation

If I was american Chinese (after she looked at our photos)

    What's her plan for america

    Where will we live

She was given a white paper with instructions to receive her visa.

Hope this helps and thanks again!

  3. Dear all,

I just scheduled our interview in Guangzhou for mid-April. However, I noticed that the I-864 expires at the end of this month. I have two co-sponsors that I'm wanting to send out the I-864 forms to but I'm worried that they will change the forms. Should I just wait until April? I'd rather do things sooner than later. Thank you in advance.

    Best regards,

    Julian

  4. Yes I DCF'd.

I completed the form online. But I am stuck at step #8 of: You must register a location for document pick-up by selecting the “Select Document Delivery Address” option in the Immigrant Visa Section of http://ustraveldocs.com.
  5. Hi Doug, first of all thank you for the information.

I did everything as you said. However, I'm up to step 8 where I have to confirm my case ID? But after I enter the Case ID I get this error:

The Case ID that you have entered cannot be found. [GUZ2015062041]. Please confirm your IV Case ID to proceed with scheduling your appointment. Please ensure that you have been notified that your IV Case is ready for scheduling. If you receive an error message that your Case ID is not loaded, please be patient and try again at a later time.

Am I suppose to wait for something in order to pass this step? Or since I already selected my delivery address I drop off the documents at the CITIC bank to proceed past step 8?

    Best regards,

    Julian

  6. Dear all,

After completing the DS-260 online. I went through the next step to register a location for document pick-up. However, when I go to confirm the case ID, I get this error:

The Case ID that you have entered cannot be found.

Please confirm your IV Case ID to proceed with scheduling your appointment. Please ensure that you have been notified that your IV Case is ready for scheduling. If you receive an error message that your Case ID is not loaded, please be patient and try again at a later time

I made sure that the case ID is correct. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you in advance.

    Best regards,

    Julian

  7. The last step on the DS-260 instructions state:

Once you have submitted the DS-260 forms for you and your accompanying family members, you must then submit your required civil documents, photographs and embassy-specific documents to the NVC.

If your case is NOT processing electronically, please submit your documents to:
    National Visa Center
    Attn: CMR/DR
    31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100
    Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

If your case IS processing electronically, please scan and email your documents to: NVCElectronic@state.gov

If I DCF'd in Beijing then my case is processed electronically, correct? I don't need to mail these to NVC?

    Thank you in advance.

    Julian

  8. http://beijing.usembassy-china.org.cn/i-130-petition-for-alien-relative.html

I found this from the above website:

Evidence of the petitioners residence in China. Please note that

    • We need a Residence Permit for Foreigner in the Peoples Republic of China ( to prove your residence in China. Holder of a Chinese visa (ǩ֤) in any categories must apply for a Residence Permit for Foreigner to prove their residence in China before direct filing with USCIS Beijing Field Office.

I have been in Shanghai for 3 years, I have a work permit book as well as a work visa in my passport. Is that the same as the residence permit for foreigners? If not, please let me know where I can go to get one.
