  1. Says "The Case ID that you have entered cannot be found. [GZO**********]" One of the emails they sent says they are in 'pre-interview processing'. And that when an interview date/time can be sent they will let us know. But we already got the P4 letter from NVC that set the date!!! But GUZ is basically saying that you can not set a date/time until they tell you that you can. Has anyone else had this happen? You get the P4 letter setting the time and date but GUZ doesn't have it in their system???

I ran into the same issues. We have NVC efiling which they are setting up the interview time for us. I did setup the passport pickup prior to the interview.

    Open an account at https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=Chinese%20%28Simplified%29&country=China

Once login, choose "新的签证申请 / 安排面谈时间" at the left side, then select "登记文件送达地址", now, you are able to register the document delivery after the interview.

  2. Hi, Everyone,

My wife and daughter attended the interview for their CR-1 & IR-2 cases last week. They were told the cases were approved and given a white sheet.

I checked the CEAC site, their cases status are "Issued". We had entered the visa delivery information on the CGI stanley site (ustraveldocs.com). How will we be notified when the passports are ready for pick up? Via a phone call or email?

We are waiting for the receiving of the passport so we can book the airline tickets.

In addition, I know we need to pay the "immigration fee" before enter the US. I presume they will provide the details with the passport and visa when we receive them?

The last question, our two years marriage anniversary is almost there. In order to receive the IR1 status instead of the CR-1 visa she was issued, can my wife enter the US on the anniversary day to meet the two years marriage requirement or she needs to arrive a day later than the anniversary to meet the requirement?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. My wife and daughter had interview yesterday. We were prepared for the CCP question ans delay. To our surprise, the VO didn't ask the CCP question and gave us a white slip and telling us to wait for receiving the VISAs and passports in about two weeks,

We are so happy that we don't have to go through the ordeal again. Hope our family will reunite soon.

Thank you everyone for the helps!

  4. I'm happy to report that our visa was approved last night! Or, at least...P5. Between changing jobs and having her come, life's going to be a whirlwind...but I like it.

    Congratulations!

Do you mind to disclose when was the interview? Just want to see how long would it take now for the CCP process since we are about to start the wait.

  5. I am happy to share my method (though it may seem a bit complicated). Anyone who is interested, can private message me for the details. If I have enough time, I hope to automate the data collection and publish a broad set of the data to make this easier for everyone. If anyone has a computer programming background and is interested in running with this or contributing, please let me know.

    Scovitz,

I have posted private message to you. Thanks

  6. The P5 came via email, just a letter. Perhaps it used to come in the mail before which is why it was called Packet 5 ... since it doesn't say P5 anywhere on it, but that is how people refer to it. I'm happy to share the contents since it is boiler plate (just message me privately... it is similar to the following: http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_62a14b930101kn1t.html). To answer billyc's question, you must obtain an updated Police Report and Medical Report if they have expired and submit that with the passports. Then the visa will be placed in the passports and sent back.

Regarding the timing of 6 months being lucky, I do feel extremely lucky to be at this point in the process. During my research though, I have seen wildly varying times with some people with Administrative Processing receiving their issued visa as early as 6 months from the case creation date (ours will take 9 months from case creation once the visa is in hand, 6 months from submitting CCP paperwork at the interview). I then saw several people receiving visas per week for visas that were periodically updated (and not stalled for greater than 3 months). Of the remaining people with the same creation date as my fiancee I saw slow but steady progress and estimated that we would likely hear something by the end of June. Of course, the pace is only an estimate and there is no way to know which of the people remaining will be selected first. If this does not make sense, please ask. I am happy to share the methodology for estimating (and am hoping to automate the stat collection in the future).

    Scovitz,

My wife and daughter's interview will be in two weeks. We are just started this long and painful wait. I have no clue about how you are checking and tracking other CCP applicants' status. If you can share your detail method, we will greatly appreciate it.

Best wishes to you and your fiancee's next stage of new life!

  7. Yes, in the P5 packet, it says if it has expired you must receive a new medical exam and report.

    -scovitz

I am really happy for you and your fiance, It will be 15 months my wife and daughter's interview.

Since the 6 months wait for CCP is consider lucky, what the P5 says regarding the medical report? Do you need to send the consulate the new one or just bring the new one when entering the USA?

  8. And..... as dumb luck would have it, my fiancee and I received our P5 just now, a little over 6 months since her interview and nearlya 11 months since we began all of the immigration proceedings....

Congratulations! One question, since it's been over 6 months after interview, the medical exam expired. Did they ask you to provide a new one to the consulate or upon the entry?

  9. Hi billyc.

There are many others (I'd estimate easily over a 1000 currently) in your situation (including myself). Everyone does their homework and the best you can do is submit your paperwork to the consular officer immediately upon receipt of the blue administrative processing form. After that all you can do is wait. Many like myself have tried contacting senators, congressman, state department officials, etc, to get standard canned responses that they are doing everything they can. In fact, that may be true, everything they can with limited resources. The investigations the consulate performs vary from person to person (waiting for a piece of info or specific inquiry to complete), so people will receive their visas post AP at random intervals. It does appear that the minimum currently (in the absolute best case) is roughly 5 months post paperwork submission. It is more commonly over this time period (I am trying to collect data on this.) From what I have seen/heard, updates happen every week and visas are issues every week just at a slow pace. You cannot gain any insight due to these being investigations.

The only thing I have heard that can speed things up is to file a Mandamus claim to force the government to act. I believe this is expensive and at its fastest takes 4 months. Beyond that, foreign relatives of U.S. citizens have few rights and due process is only considered for criminal cases (not legal immigration).

What I think could work (long term, not short term) would be to get true complete data on wait times and consular staffing. Then highlight inefficiencies when comparing visas processed per consular site per the number of staff. Then somehow lobby the government to add additional staffing to GUZ.

For a family situation, I think you will want to (if possible) find a way to live with your significant other/child since the delay can vary widely.

    Scovitz,

When was your interview and how long have you been waiting if you don't mind.

Reading state department's "Foreign Affair Manual" published on their web site, it doesn't seems require a lot of process at the consulate. They will submit SAO to Washington Homeland security department. We are at hands of bureaucracy in Washington.

I am not sure if the SAO will be processed by the same departments as filing the I-601. According the "Foreign Affair Manual", all consulate's I-601 is processed by Nebraska Service Center, which on the processing time June bulletin showing at the 4/30/2014, they are processing the Dec 2, 2013. It is about the same as other service centers taking 4 months.

I really appreciate you are trying to organize and collecting the information on the wait time. However, I am not sure where your estimation of 1000 of Guangzhou CCP waiting for visa coming from. If that is true number, I don't think 5 months wait will clear that. I think in the long run, they should change the procedure and automatically launch the SAO when you file the DS-260 and answered "yes" to CCP questions. Only to those who was not honestly answered the question or found suspicious in interview ask the manual AP.

Last, I don't have an option to live with my family in China, since my job is in US and hard to move back just to past the wait time. I just have to keep suffering the pain for being apart from my family, specially my 17 months old little sunshine.

US is always claiming it is compassionate to the humanity. However, the immigration process is just too cruel and inhuman to so many broken families.

  10. Dan,

Thanks again for your information and comment.

Since I-601 can't be filed now and the consulate will automatically kick in their SAO, so nothing we can do after the interview? Is there anything we can prepare prior to the interview to cut down time to submit additional document?

We do not intent to lie, in fact, so many steps we could lie or take some dishonest steps to cut some time off, but we didn't. However, the procedure of the immigration doesn't seem reward honest people, only the other way around.Waiting for over 6 month now over this verification is just encourage people to lie.

  11. Dan,

Based on all the posts I read, recently the SAO process from the consulate is significantly delayed. On average over 6 months and is a black hole with no way to check the processing time. I really regret answered honestly "yes" to the question of CCP. There are so many people lied and got through.

My daughter is almost year and half now. I really don't want to be apart from my family for another year just because this check.

Any advise for how to speed things up? If I file the I-601 now, will that help?

    Thanks

  12. Hi, Everyone,

My family is in the same boat. My wife and 17 months old daughter is waiting for Interview the first week of July. (It took 15 months for us to reach here).

I have read the CCP related posts here. My wife joint simply because it was required due to she was HR manager of the state own company. I didn't know this process now takes over a year for someone. I can't imaging if I am apart from my little girl for that long.

Can any one of here helps me to understand what will happen after the interview. I presume they will not issue a visa to her. According to the published state department procedure: http://www.state.gov...ation/86973.pdf , for CCP member the Guangzhou consulate must request for the Department’s Security Advisory Opinions (SAO).

Do we need to file the I-601 ourselves or consulate will submit internal SAO without us to file I-601?

Does the I-601 is required or additional to the consulate's SAO? Can we file the I-601 now before the interview? Will that speed things up?

According to the latest state document, the adjudication of the I-601 is coming from Nebraska Service Center, which currently is processing the Dec 2nd 2013, means the wait for CCP will be over 6 month.

The medical exam is only valid for 6 month, what happens when the I-601 is cleared, the consulate will request us to submit the new medical exam again?

What happens to my 17 month old daughter? If the consulate delay the issue of my wife's visa, will they still issue the visa to my daughter?

    Thank you in advance!

  14. Hi, Everyone,

Just received interview letter in emails for both case. Both letter scheduled the interview date and time for us.

One thing it mentioned is to check consulate's interview procedure. I checked the Guangzhou's web site, the procedure it described looks like for mail process, which the interview letter is sent by the consulate and applicants schedule the interview themselves.

For electronic processing, is there anything we need to do apart to obtain the medical exam report and photo in addition to the original documents already submitted. I saw on some forum, saying we need to submit the original documents, everything a day before? I could not find such thing in any where on their web site. Can any one confirm?

My understanding is my wife and daughter just need to show up 15 minutes before the interview time with all original documents.

Since we have to book the travel to Guangzhou, it is really important for us to know if we need to submit the original document to the Guangzhou consulate a day earlier.

    Please advise!

    Thanks

  15. It has to do with date permanent residence states is established, if before 2 years of marriage, the resulting green card will be a 2 year conditional card, if after 2 years of marriage the resulting green card will be a 10 year unconditional one. Residency status begins at time of entry to the USA at POE.

So yes if have a CR-1 visa but enter the USA on the visa after 2 years of marriage, the POE will code the green card 10 year unconditional.

Asked and answered by two lawyers here: http://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/does-ir1--cr1-status-depend-on-the-date-of-entry-i-598639.html

Thanks for the confirmation! We will make sure to enter after 2 years of marriage.

  16. BIlly, as long as she enters (POE point of entry date) i to America is after your second year of marriage she should get the permanent card. Point the fact out to the immigration folks who process her in the airport, as well.

We started out as a CR-1 and I delayed things until the interview was after two years of marriage, but....I knew that I only had to wait for our entry POE date to be after the 2nd year of marriage date, should we have had the interview any sooner. I think, it is still, that you have 6 months to use the visa once she gets it.

    IR-1 is the king LOL

    Good luck

    tsap seui

Thank you so much for the information!

  17. Hi, everyone!

Just called NVC and was told both my wife and daughter's cases are completed last Friday 6/6/2014. However, I still have not received the official email notification. They told me they will schedule the interview for us, I can't schedule it myself. I am not sure how far will the interview date will be once the case is completed. Please let me know if you know the estimation time. I will report back once I have the update.

I have a question now hope someone here knows the answer.

Our marriage two years anniversary will be in September this year. Obviously my wife will be issued a CR1 visa if her interview date is prior to September. However, what if she enters US after our two years anniversary day? Will the boarder USCIS issue her a permanent green card or still 2 years conditional green card, which we could file for the permanent one immediately?

I searched online, there is case, when I130 filed was for CR1 and interview occurs after 2 years anniversary and the consular issued IR1 instead. However, I could not find the case, where CR1 issued and entered US after the 2 years marriage.

    Please advise! Thanks in advance!

  18. Hi, Everyone!

I submitted the DS-261 online on 5/4/2014. I also emailed the AOS and other support documents on 5/4. Today I just received two emails of check list of both my wife and daughter's case. Asking the same things I already submitted via e-filing.

I am guess that someone processed the DS-261 and found no documents attached to the cases becuase they have not processed my emails. What should I do in this situation? Please help!
