  1. Thanks you guys for your kindness.

I'm getting her AOS paperwork ready. The thing about vaccination supplement...I think it has been reported numerous times here at CFL...I called several civil surgeons and wasted a lot of time trying to explain to them my fiancee did the medical exam and vaccination in Guangzhou already and all we needed was this 693A form. They all insisted on doing the full exam and whatnot. In the end I found someone who can review her vaccination record from China and do the supplement form for $15.

  2. still trying to get her settled down with the new ...

I flew in Guangzhou on Sunday Aug 15th and went to the interview with her the next morning. Even though she was among the first few in line entering the consulate, she waited almost till noon to get her name called. The interview took only a few minutes. She got pink!

We waited around in GUZ and picked up the visa package at the nearby post office on Friday Aug 20th, and flew back on 21st.

From the NOA1 receipt date (April 8th) to K-1 issuance date (Aug 19), it took barely over 4 months, way quicker than I originally anticipated. I want to Thank you ALL so much for the help during the last couple of months! Your answers and suggestions to my questions were so invaluable and made the whole process lot easier for me.

Now the AOS...I'm sure I'll post questions pretty soon!:)

  3. I have contacted one of the senators office and asked if they can provide any support for my fiancee's K-1 visa case, and was told all they can do is to contact GUZ to make sure they process the case fair and just. Now I'm really hesitating if I should bring them in this late of stage. I'm leaving for Guangzhou this Saturday and will be there with my girl when she goes to her interview Monday morning. I already gave the senator's office my consent to contact GUZ but told them to stand by unless I need their assistance if anything goes wrong at the interview on the day of 8/16. I'm now wondering if I should just ask the office to email them now and inquire about the case, or should I wait? Any body out there has done this before? It's not like I have something to hide but after reading all those "horror" stories from GUZ, I am really at a loss and don't know what I should do exactly.

  4. my fiancee got her P4 today. It was using the same EMS label that she had put within her P3 reply.

What made me worried was DOS informed me the Consulate sent out P4 on 7/20 but according to EMS, the package didn't get to Guangzhou's local post office ¹ãÖÝÊÐÓÊÕþ¾ÖÎ÷µÌÖ§¾Ö until 7/24. Anyways, it was delivered to her the day after.

  5. looks like I'm not going to make to ACH before my fiancee's interview as her date has been scheduled for Aug 16th, Monday morning. Even though DOS told me P4 was sent out on 20th, it hasn't shown up in EMS's tracking system yet. Do they by any chance send the packet with regular mail or a different EMS label, instead of using the one that was returned with the P3?

  6. Time to start the August thread.

I have been reading up our sister site 001 bbs.net quite a bit lately. Sounds like August interview dates are starting to come out this week but so far just for the ones who sent back P3 to GUZ in first week of June.

Several posts also indicates GUZ schedules interviews in monthly batches, e.g. if you send back P3 in July (day of receipt acknowledged by GUZ, not the delivery date claimed by EMS), they will wait until August to process your case, and schedule your interview in September. Is this another "misinformation"?

  7. Amaro:

I hope you will not have to call at all! The folks at my lady's agency said that things appeared to be moving very quickly with the visa process now and that she can expect an email confirmation of receipt for her P-3 from GUZ in 3 to 4 days. Then we move on to the wait for the P-4 and interview date. I've got almost all of my documents together and am just waiting for the tax transcripts. Got to get all this stuff organized for her and then just stand by for the big swoop to Honk Kong and on to Guangzhou where I will meet my lady and her daughter. I'll keep you up to date on the P-4 time frame as it develops. Good luck to you and your lady! I hope everyone's application moves more quickly now and that is the beginning of a new and welcomed trend at GUZ.

Here's a question for Dan or anyone who might know. The VJ site says that you should bring an entire copy of the original I-129F submission package with all the original documents to the interview. Is this true? Does my lady have to carry that boat load of documentation into the interview with her? If this has already been looked over and scanned into our case, is this really necessary? I thought that I would just bring the following in an accordion folder:

    I-134

    Tax transcripts

    Letter from employer

    Visa fee receipt

Airline receipts proof of visit from trip after the I-129 was submitted

Updated Letters of Intent to marry

    Updated Evolution Of Relationship letter

    Letter explaining divorce

    Personal letters

    e-mail

    Chat logs

    Skype screen shots

    Photographs

    She will have:

    Appointment letter

    Passport for herself and daughter

    P-4 medical forms completed/x-rays

Birth certificate - notarized white book

Divorce certificate - notarized white book

Ex-husbands death certificate - notarized white book

Police reports for her and her daughter - notarized white book

Baptismal certificate - notarized white book

Letters from mother & father giving permission for daughter to go to US

    4 Passport photos of both

    What's your thought?

"Letters from mother & father giving permission for daughter to go to US"? are you talking about letters from your future in-laws? Is this some new requirement that Guangzhou consulate is asking to bring to the interview?

  8. Sorry I am so clueless. Someone at the notary office where my fiance got her notarized certificates for birth, police record and single status just told her something that I have never heard of.

They said she needs to go to "Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Service Center" (http://www.hbfasc.com/zx_e.asp) in Wuhan and get these certificates legalized/authorized so US consulates will accept the stamps and signatures in these certificates. Chinese term is "ÁìÊÂÈÏÖ¤" if anyone here can read the characters. Google Translate has it as "Consular certificate".

Has anyone here heard such a thing? The certificates she obtained at the notary office are already in both Chinese and English with the official stamps and everything. What else needs to be "consular certified"?!

  9. Thanks Dan. I got the suggestions from you and couple other folks on my other post and was ready to contact DOS and the consulate. But now the problem is the new address my fiance is moving to is a temp, might be for just a few weeks and she doesn't even know how safe the EMS package can be delivered and received at this address. sigh...

so if Post Office over there usually calls the recipient before delivering EMS and gives the option of picking up the package at the post office, my problem is solved for now, at least for P-3, because we still need to find a permanent address for her P4.

Btw, my I-129F was approved on 6/14, received at NVC on 6/18, and delivered to Guangzhou via both electronically and DHL on 6/22, all just a few days behind Richard's case. That's why I'm hoping the package his fiance is getting in Chengdu is indeed the P3, which gives me hope that my fiance can get it before she has to move out from her current address ... one can always dream, right?:)

    Thanks again!

  10. Yeah please let us know if the package is indeed the P-3 packet from Guangzhou consulate.

I posted a question about what to do with the address I put in for her in my I-129F application because my fiance is moving to a new apt. within the two weeks. So if Post Office calls her for pickup instead of delivering to her old address, my problem is solved. Does anyone know if this is how EMS works in China? (My fiance lives in Shanghai.)
