  1. Just to let you know that my wife is home now, but her flight left Nanning later than scheduled due to thunderstorms and arrived in Beijing too late for her to catch her flight to Newark. She spent the nite in hotel and it cost $50 to get her on next day CO 88 and she is safe and sound at home. So you never know what mother nature can do when she wants too change plans:)

That $50 does not include hotel expenses. Besides she may have lost her previously reserved seat (window or aisle) when she took the next day flight. Good she is home and safe now.

Yes my honey is back home and she had a better seat on this flight than before, the hotel was cheap and the stress was a lot less trying to catch the flight, anyhow all is well here in Flushing NY:)

  3. I am shocked you have time to type with the wife coming home in a few days.

Get away from the computer and get back to scrubbing everything you messed up while she was away.

I found this great website www.flightstats.com which allows you to ck whether a flight is delayed from any airport, so I will look at this Saturday morning to see if my honey made it on the flight to Beijing.:bullshit:

  4. My wife is coming home this Sunday:) and but she is a little nervous since the weather in Nanning has not been that great and Sunday they predict thunderstorm and she thinks that her flight in the morning to Beijing Sunday may be delayed. I told her that everything will be ok, they fly in wet weather and the weather in Beijing will be nice Sunday, so not to worry.

  5. Thanks ...........big load off my mind, and you made my day!!!!

    Beijing Airport has 3 terminals: T1, T2 and T3.

CO88 (Code-share with UA 3421) departs from T3 at 15:45. T3 is the newest terminal. There are shuttle buses between T1-T3 (I believe).

CO88 may start check-in luggages around 1:00PM. If your wife's plane to Beijing is not late, she should be OK.

Check the following website for updated flight info.

Yeah, it was CO88 that I usually fly home on, and flew home in April.

Just catch the right shuttle bus and it's a ten minute ride to the International airport. Inside and at the back is the new efficient check-in and she'll get on the train to her gate. It's all pretty quick, now.

She will have a couple of distinct advantages I don't have...Chinese writing won't look like Christmas trees and little houses to her, and being a woman she will ask for directions if she doesn't understand something.

I hope she has a safe trip.

    tsap seui

Hopefully she will not have an issue with the flight from Nanning to Beijing with weather delays or mechanical, but thank you for your follow up and appreciate all your help.

  6. My wife is departing on Air China at 9am and arriving in Beijing at 12:30pm. Her flight from Beijing to Newark leaves at 3:45pm, will she make it? Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks,

i forgot to mention that she is taking Continental from Beijing which departs at 3:45pm

Check which terminal she would leave from. I believe it's the old Terminal 2. If not, she would have to take the subway, but she should still have plenty of time.

I believe your right, I am just worried that she will have trouble waiting for her luggage from Nanning then have to wait for them to transfer to Continental, but i guess she can hire someone to help her with schlepping them to Continental ticket counter.

  7. Hi

I just bought a 1 way ticket JFK to Nanning leaving May 2nd for my wife for $620. She will stay probably 2-3 months, is the price of the return going to cost a lot more if she buys ticket in China. I checked all the websites for the return 1 way from Nanning to JFK and the prices from July to Sept are around $1,100 and up. Can anyone make a suggestion as to what is the cheapest way to buy the return ticket when she is in Nanning?

    Thanks,

    Ben

  8. Hey there ......oneday when you have a chance bring her to Flushing NY and she will see similar prices as in China, I am very fortunate to be living nearby that my wife still feels the strong ties to being close to home, since eveyone is from Fujin, Beijing , etc. it is unbelievable how many different areas people come from and live here in NYC. If you do come I would like to meet you and your lao po.

  9. My stepdaughter electronically filed January and she got her little refund yesterday.

It sure was and faster than my NYS tax refund, which I still have not received for 2009:)

Well our great governor proposed holding the refunds.

Hey I overpaid I want my refund!

ALBANY -- Governor Paterson's proposed budget amendments include something New Yorkers may not like too much come tax time.

The governor is proposing temporarily withholding taxpayers state tax refunds as a way to help the State deal with its growing budget deficit. Paterson's proposal would allow the State to hold onto state tax refunds until sometime after the next fiscal year which begins on April 1st. The governor says withholding refunds from taxpayers the will generate $500 million for the State.

Legally, the State can hold onto your tax refund for up to forty five days past April 15th. State Assembly minority leader, Republican Brian Kolb, says the State has no right to treat taxpayer money as an interest free loan.

"It's a dumb idea. I think it is irresponsible to the taxpayers that have paid their taxes on time that have filed their taxes on time to basically withhold money because government can't manage it's budget. It is totally reprehensible and quite frankly absurd," Kolb says.

The governor is also proposing to freeze $200 million in business tax refunds. MORE...

Signature says card ordered 2/5/08 what exactly is the expiration date on the cards?

If 2/5/10 then the earliest you could file I-751 is 11/7/09, if 2/1 then 11/3.

Note: you can file any time within 90 days before the expiration, we filed about 10 days before the CR-Green-card expired.
