I agree with Jim on his insight. My wife was telling me today that Chinese New Year is for children and she did not like what has become of Chinese New Year because of the "greed" involved. I think Jim was trying to make this point and people need to make Christmas or what ever other holiday that may come up, what they desire. My Christian upbringing taught me the meaning of Christmas at an early age and "NONE OF IT" can be bought in any store! (I do understand seeing others getting gifts and MeiMei not getting any and how that would bother her. Human nature is difficult to surpress) What I wanted is some little present like candy or flower, I want to know that he cares, he will do something(absolutly not necessarily costly) to make me happy. Is that can be called" greedy"? I want the feeling of being loved, is that too much to ask?

Thank you stacato, but he didn't buy me gift for my birthday eighter, and I complained so he reluctantly sent me a bunch of belated flower. hehe

I want to add that since he is not there with you it would have been nice to have recieved a present so that you would have something to remember him by for this special occassion! Here is my present to you. May the spirit of Christmas make your loved one remember you on this day next year! Thank you so much for the present, thank you, it's the first present I got today.

Christmas in our family has always been a time for gift giving for all ages. Sure the kids receive many more gifts than the adults, in fact I just helped Santa arrange the special gifts for our son a few minutes ago. For some reason he was a bit late getting to our house tonight. But some of the best gifts are given between adults. This is our son's first Christmas in the US and at age 10 all the other kids are talking about "Santa Clause is not real", when he asked me about this I told him that "I really hope they are wrong." The spirit of Christmas is more than the giving and receiving of gifts, it is more about love and sharing with those you love. Unfortunately there are those who have lost the spirit of the holiday. But since he has told you about Christmas in the US, maybe you should tell him what is expected for the Chinese holidays, he's from the US and how would he know about the 32 days of gift giving for Chinese New Year. He's very annoied that I asked him to buy something, he said it's holiday for americans so it's none of my business, it's too much to ask for a gift.

It's the Xmas day here in china, all the K1 fiancees in china happily talking about what kind of gifts they got from their american fiances , I felt a little bit lost as I didn't get any gift from my SO, So I gathered all my guts to ask my SO to buy me some gift. I don't really care what he buys me but the thought that counts. A bunch of flower or a box of candy will make me happy enough. I want to know that he cares about me, thinks about me all the time, especially in the big day for amercians. So I asked him gingerly" Can you buy me some xmas gift?" He told me a DVD player he bought me one month ago is a xmas gift, I argued it can not be considered as a Xmas gift since it was way before the Xmas. Then my SO got irritated and said that I have problem that I ask him to buy things for me and that Xmas is just for kids, no adults will get gifts on the day, I'm not supposed to ask him for xmas gift. Since I'm chinese so I don't really know ameican custom, so what he says is true

I got confused, my given name in chinese language are two seperated words, so I signed my given name in Pinyin seperatelly also. that's where I made mistake as they tell me I should bound it together. But if I bound the given name together, will the immigration conside it's a confict since one is bounded (in pinyin)and the other (in native language)is separated?

She put her first name as Mei and middle as Hong and last as Wang. Chinese have no middle name and I didn't know that. She didn't know that either. Her first name is Hongmei and her last name is Wang. That's what should have been on the form. The first middle and last was mixed up for her parents also. So the two character given name is reversed and separated into a first and middle... Yes. Was this how it was done on the I-129F as well ? Yes And how did the NOA2 show her name? Wang, Mei H.( in fact which should be Wang. Hongmei) Did you get a different letter saying it would be sent to the consulate, how was the name on this one? Haven't gotten the letter yet. (I assume they show her name as: Mei Hong Wang or Wang, Mei Hong ?) worst than that Does she have a pasport yet? no, not yet

I didn't leave out character of my given name, but it's not in the right order. Say, my name is Wang Hongmei, I signed as Mei Hong Wang in english( cause my so told me the name order should be first name, middle name, then last name. I thought Hong" was my middle name since the charactor is right in the middle.) And I DID leave out one character of both my parrent's name! My father's name is "Wang Shifan", I fill it out as" Wang Fan", I thought "shi" is his middle name and my so told me the middle name is not important. So I just left it out! Can not believe how dumb I was !

When I filled G-325A form, I didn't know how to format my chinese name in English, so I had my name and the signature wrong. and I had my parent's name wrong also(missed out one part of their name). My so has recently got the NOA2 telling us that the case has been sent to the NVC. I don't know what do now. Should I correct all the mistake by faxing the NVC now or wait untill later? Will they have me to send the petition all over again because of so many mistakes? Since they don't do name check on my parrent's, if it's necessary to correct my parrent's name also? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you

Dennis, if your loved one call you" shagua" in chinese, then it does't mean anything bad at all, it's a fond way of joking. it's in a sense to show the love and closeness beween two people instead of being mean. I guess it's equivalent to" silly" in English.by the way, I think "silly" doesn't have malicious meaning right?(hope I'm not mistaken here again, hehe) words can be tricky but it's interesting at the same time, hehe

I called my SO "dummy" tonight, he was not happy and said it's rude to call someone dummy, He said dummy means an ignorant or foolish person, so I made a mistake? I thought it was an unharmful way of teasing.
