  1. I am filling out the N-400... Obviously... Section 9 A. About listing kids.

I read the instructions and I still am not entirely sure what to put. I have 3 kids from a previous marriage. One is grown up and gone, other two are still living with me. My wife is the step mom and the one applying for citizenship. Do I put them down in this section? It says how many sons and daughters have you had. She has not had any, she is my kids step mom.... confused what to put.

  2. Hey everyone, got my mother and father-in-law comming over in December from china for a visit. Mom is a diabetic and we need to get her medical insurance so she can see a stupid USA doctor to tell her she is diabetic so we can get her the medicine she needs while here. Anyone come across something like this before or know of an insurance?

  3. Ting and I are off to China tomorrow. Were driving from Pensacola tonight all the way to Dallas and catching a flight from there to LA then to Korea and then Beijing.

Were a bit nervous because Tin is still waiting for her 10 year card and her 2 year is expired and were traveling on an extension letter.

We have heard horror stories about the exit authority thinking the extension letter is just a receipt or other such nonsense. We could not get immigration to give her a stamp in her passport so keep your fingers crossed. The only other issue right now is trying to get a flight from Beijing to Baotou, apparently because I am a foreigner I must pay full price, no discount... We cant figure out how to buy a ticket on line either.

Will just buy it when we set foot in Beijing. This trip is for our Chinese wedding. We have been married already but here in the USA in the court house...

Wish us luck! Everyone take care!

  4. My elderly mother and father-in-law live in Baotou China. My wife just told me something I could barely comprehend was true. The power and water for the entire apartment building had been cut off for everyone because a couple people did not pay their power and water bill. I thought she was joking with me at first. I am so mad this occurred; is this legal? Is it common for this to happen in China? Does anyone have any advice that we could use?

  5. I have a question. I spent a great deal of time, effort and cash buying and explaining the importance in the American culture about the wedding ring concept. But I still feel she does not quite get how important it is. She has a couple fine rings with some good rocks but she does not wear them hardly at all in the house and only when going out, like it's just some other ole necklace or something, and only I think mostly because I kinda insist on it.

Has anyone else had this issue?

  6. Whats wrong with Whidbey? In the San Juan Islands, most here in the PNW consider that a beautiful place. Lost of high end second houses and rich people, plus biking on the islands, cruising on the sound etc.

I hunt in central Oregon, and the old A-6 terrain following all weather bombers (out of Whidbey---now decommissioned, I think) used to practice coming in and out of the Boardman (Oregon) bombing range----following the breaks of the John Day river ----lots of times, while hunting on the hill tops I was actually at eye level with them, as they screamed by. Ok if they were coming towards you----behind you they scared the holy crap since they were on you before you knew it.

Nothing at all is wrong with Whidbey. But the work environment there for a Navy Airframer is horrible. It will also be a huge problem for my wife trying to finish her Dental Hygiene degree. You have to drive an hour just to get to the mall. Aside from fishing, and a couple restaurants there is diddly to do on Whidbey. It is beautiful but boring and no college to speak of that offers what my wife needs. There are also a lot of bad memories for me there and I am not relishing having to go back there.

  7. Well my time in Pensacola with the Navy is going to be over shortly and I¡¯ll get shipped off to another location. Where I will go, now that is the question. I will most likely be shipped to Whidbey Island but I¡¯m doing everything in my power to avoid that. And by everything I mean applying for any other job but that place. I just sent in a request to go to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma with VQ-4. Doubt it will happen but keep your fingers crossed.

    Anyone here from Oklahoma City?

    How is it over there?

  8. Dave you came to the correct place. That was your number one most important step; your chances have now improved greatly.

There is much debate on if going to the interview helps at all.

It is my personal opinion it does indeed help.

One of the more experienced members will be along shortly to tell you what exactly you need to do from here.

I wish you the best of luck.
