Dump the attorney and spend that money on another trip to be with her. Just cross your t's and dot your i's. Collect as much evidence of a bona-fide relationship as possible. As long as neither you nor your fiance is not playing any games, your only real hurdle is time.
I'll let someone else explain your need to buy Cheetos.
It took us 13 months from an 04 filing date. Not sure what the more recent filings have been.

Hey all. It's been awhile. Thought I'd post in here as it's relatively live and related to my question. I remember somewhere around here seeing a link for travel (medical) insurance for the in-laws. Wendy's parents are going to visit and that's one of their concerns, so we're trying to price it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay...just in case someone is new to CFL. Yes, my profile states I live in Walnut Creek, CA. But I was born and raised in the only state that the USA asked...(to be honest, BEGGED) to join it.
It all comes down to how a REAL Texas man treats a lady. It's the reason I refuse to introduce a California man to any of my wife's single Chinese friends.
To be honest, it's really old-fashioned, and in this politically correct day and age, offensive. It's an obvious, not implied, respect and reverence, that I haven't seen anywhere else but Texas, toward the fairer gender. I'm sure it exists elsewhere in pockets...but when women elsewhere in the US are surprised, if not thrilled, that you would hold open the door for them, there's obviously a difference. And it's an virtual LAW in Texas.
I know I'm going to catch flak for this, and I don't even hafta ask the real Texas men to come to my defense. But, since I have moved away from the Lone Star State, I do not see local men, REGARDLESS OF RACE, view their women as treasures, the way Texas men do.
Now, compare that to the way many (not all) Chinese women are treated.
But, as a true Texan, I will give full credit to any man who treats "his woman" as a treasure. I just assume that if you do, you have a little TX in you too. If not, I'm sorry that "his woman" offends you...as you obviously have no clue.
Californian by residence...Texan by the Grace of God.

It's infuriating to see these women, no matter which country they come from, being taken advantage-of. Human decency must make it's way into the discussion somehow.
Damn. Those of us legitimate CFLers know what our SOs are giving up to come over to be with us. I have nothing but hatred for anyone who takes advantage of that, for the sake of money, sex, or ego.

Thanks, everyone, for your support and well-wishes. Looks like the visit will be delayed, due to some health issues. Good thing Wei's there to take care of them. At least the visa's good for a year.
Now I just want my Wendy back. 4 weeks down. 5 to go.

We didn't use an I-134 for my in-laws' V2, but I did get an employment verification letter, which they didn't ask to see at the interview.

Seems they had no problem at all yesterday. Wendy sent them with a letter (based on the primary one floating around in this topic) an itinerary that emphasized spending the holidays with the US based family, pictures, and proof of ties to home (bank accts, income statements, pictures of remaining son/grandson.)
Interview started with basic questions about their daughter, son-in-law, how we met, and how long we've been married. They asked to see pictures, and the first one was of them with me, Wendy & my parents. In-laws seem to think that the tone of the interview became immediately positive when they saw the pictures. The officer then said, "Hope you enjoy your visit to the United States." Wendy'll go with them to pick up their visas next week.

She's here on a B1? Working? A few months? Might not want to mention that in any of their narrative. B1 implies visitor (if she remains on her company's Chinese payroll, that should be less of an issue) and transferring directly over to an immigration-based application's going to raise eyebrows. Is she planning to overstay her B?
On the surface, to me, this one might complicated. Unless they can establish some concrete proof of their being together after marriage (despite the actual physical separation) I see flags all over at the interview.

With as many colleges and universities there are in the Bay Area, you should have no trouble and should see plenty of flyers for continuing education. Also, isn't there a decent-sized community center there in Sunset? I've been in that area a few times, but not enough to quote details for ya.

Safety's my biggest concern, too. Wei really wants to be able to see everything, and wants a smaller car with big windows.
Field of vision isn't the best in our G6, but I'm actually more afraid of her hitting something while parking it, as opposed to out on the road. Whatever we get, it'll be used, because insurance in CA is a killer.

Just a quick update. We got the green card in the mail yesterday.
All in all, no complaints about our journey, but there's always room for improvement.

To kill microbes left in public washers and dryers why not just spray the inside of the drum with one of the available and effective sanitizers such as Bactine or Lysol? You could also add a squirt of any of the antibacterial dish washing liquids to your laundry.
I sometimes add Tea Tree Oil or Lemon Oil which also kill a wide range of bacteria. Pine Oil works also.
There's gotta be some pine oil or derivative in Dettol, now that you mention it. Smells like a milder, sweeter pine-sol.
I'm a bit leery of using dish soap in anything other than the sink. Seen what happens when you use it in the dishwasher.
As far as not using the dryer goes (back to the topic in this room), my clothes seem to be lasting longer, easier to iron, and smelling better. Just gotta time my laundry days right if I plan on wearing something in particular. no biggie.

I don't think you should sweat it. Sounds like it's not a denial...just a delay. Wei and I wound up having to submit more evidence after our interview.

Very well said. I'm also learning that the truth will come out in time. As she becomes less dependent on the family ties and duties which she has known and followed the vast majority of her life, and more trusting and comfortable in her current, stable and secure life with you, she will unload her burdens without a second thought.
