So only Christians are poor? Or is it the other way around?Didn't some guy named Jesus say that the poor will always be with us (but he won't be with us)?
Matthew 26:11
Yeah, but not everyone is Christian.
It's neither, the poor will always be with us, he didn't specify that in the context of belief.
You must also know that there are many (I believe) wealthy people who are spiritually poor, so wealth, even in modest amounts is no savior by any means...IMHO

My kitchen sink is ready.
I have an ACS appointment for Monday and will also go to the ACH.
I am very very nervous and just a bundle of nerves right now.
I hope we get PINK.
Go and enjoy, get that pink!

Another quick question for the experts. If I plan to go to guangzhou for my fiancees interview, about how much money am I looking at spending for everything? I would be leaving out of LAX and I would also need to get a plane ticket for my fiancee to come to guangzhou.
Consider staying at the Yangs for a good rate and they will provide assistance for you and your SO, many here have stayed with them, including myself and my wife.

My SO has her interview Oct 20 and I was on the fence if I should go or not.
Last night with a 6 pack inside me I was browsing fares on the internet and found a great deal. $845 rountrip from JFK to Guangzhou.
I could not resist
That's a great fair, you should double check your itinerary post 6 pack and make sure you're actually going to China

You could say that the election of President Obama shows our progress, but to me, it is only a small step. The fact that he is looked at as the ¡°first black President¡± is not finding the ¡°promised land¡± in that his race must be stated rather than just saying he is the 44th President of the United States.
How about if we elect people based upon their qualifications, and not because they are of one race or another
We have had minorities holding lofty positions in our government from both parties but often politics tarnishes their achievements.
Yes, if the elected minority is of the "wrong political party" then it doesn't count.
Recently, racism has been blamed as a root cause for demonstrations against Presidential Policies.
Correct, it can't be honest objection to policies, so it must be racism, some want to keep racism alive for their own use.
Cannot swords be turned to plowshares? Can we and all nations not live in peace? As long as mankind exists, no, we cannot In our obsession with antagonisms of the moment, we often forget how much unites all the members of humanity. Perhaps we need some outside, universal threat to make us recognize this common bond. I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world. And yet, I ask you, is not an alien force already among us? What could be more alien to the universal aspirations of our peoples than war and the threat of war?
This is a good idealistic view, but we don't and never will live in such a world.

I wasn't willing to even hear the idea of a child, until my wife was here in the US and we were somewhat situated.
Better to wait until she gets here and you have been together long enough to see if you're compatible.
She has enoungh to adjust to, besides a small child. Waiting sounds wise to me. JMHO

Looks like Paris is more than a little bit out of your way, but you'll get some frequent flier miles!
Nothing like a good picture to put something into perspective, good one Randy
The Continental flight from Newark goes east (to the right of the pole)
The first time I flew to China the path was very close to directly over the pole, another time returning home we flew much further south, over the Bering Strait and thru Alaska. So maybe weather and other factors determine which route they take.

Hui really wants to have a baby she is thinking she is getting to old. (38) Dont tell her I told you her age or it's a mop slap for me....
I want to wait till she gets here to Mesa but she is worried she will be 40 when she has the baby and wants to start now.
What complications could this bring to the K-1 process?
Thanks for the info.
Robert
Something else to worry about? You are a busy guy

Does anybody here have any experience with flying to China going EAST instead of West???
I have found some tickets with Air France that are reasonable and the flights seem to be pretty nice. Plus - we will get to see Paris for a few hours.
Thanks,
Scott
What is the route, and how long does it take? I've always flown over the pole into Beijing.

I dont want them to be friends. If there is any sort of problem the Ex can just wait in the car...
My Ex think slot of her self because she is very pretty and makes like 40k a year more then me. So I think any motives of her wanting to come around would be to make Hui feel inferior....and ....that aint gonna happen... I think I will tell the Ex once Hui is here she needs to stay out in the car when she comes over and she needs to fix her own damn house...
That is the right attitude, and the" true attitude" should be : go find her own bf or husband to fix her house B)
Let the extra 40k fix the house

Now that's funny.
Yes it is, I am much happier to read about that then experience it

For the medical examination for my wife do we have to make an appointment? Or can we just walk in for the exam?
Wife said she made an appointment, but didn't know if it was required. Better to have and not need, enough stress in GUZ anyway.

Add some pizza at breakfast, lunch and dinner

What would she eat for any meal? I hope I can guess, but breakfast??? uh oh clueless!!
Yes I know her normal selection, IF in China. But I'm wondering regarding food I can buy in USA to have available for Sunday morning after her Saturday long flight. Remember first impression goes a long way.
I guess the left over order out Dominoes pizza from dinner is OK???
Cold pizza and a beer ought to start the day well!

I dont really know where to start, I am feeling very frustrated. Nothing is really going wrong but my mind is filled with a endless string of What if's.
What if They say I dont make enoufgh money....Are you so close to the low limit that this is a worry? Then prepare, can you ask someone to be a sponser?
What if I dont screw up gathering the items she will need for her interview....That would be best, if you didn't screw up, so no worries there
What if she has her interview before my 2009 Tax returns are ready.... What if..What if...What if...
What if a huge metor strikes the earth and we all die, you can worry about anything, but nothing will change because of it. Use your energy to prepare, learn, and enjoy this unique time in your relationship. After she arrives you will move on with a new set of life circumstances, live for now, not what could or might be based upon your fear.
I know I have a pricelss reasource here for answering questions, but I still worry.

My wifes interview date has been set. Its at the end of September. The e-mail cover sheet I got mentioned the medical examination. Should I have my wife shcedule an appointment? Does the consulate schedule this? Can she see any Dr. or does it have to be one in Guangzhou?
Thanks,

Hi group. I am grateful for everyones help. I had a couple more questions. My wife will have her interview on September 21. We still haven't recieved packet 3 or packet 4. I called the NVC and they said they sent out packet 4 on August 14. It this normal to take this long and will packet 4 come before paacket 3?
I was also wondering if Jing can accompany me to the Citizens hour meeting? Thanks for you hep, Spencer

I grew up in Col, but haven't lived there for many years...the last time I visited I couldn't believe how many of our southern neighbors (PC talk) have moved there. So when you write "if you survive the night" are you referring to Detroit or Columbus?
