ACH and Interview

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

Well as many now know my wife was approved for her CR1 visa and it is now in hand!!

Also as many know we where BLUE! sliped back in May.

The Friday before the interview i went to the ACH.

I only had one question and one request to ask the VO.

The VO was a young white male with a deep voice.

He was very kind and very helpful.

The first question i asked was if our CR1 was logged in yet.

The VO told me NO!! not yet and that it might be another month before it would be logged in.

He told me we should just continue with our K3 interview, I said ok fine!!

At this point the VO asked me a few questions.

He asked me why i would like a CR1 insted of a K3.

I told him that on a CR1 my wife could work much sooner than on a K3.

VO said: Very good!!

He then asked what high school i went to.

In the back of my mind i though this was a strange question but i answered him.

Come to find out both the VO and I went to the same school.

We started talking about the teachers there and all the things we did in school.

At this point i knew this was going to be a BIG plus for the interview.

During the whole time the VO was typing INFO into the computer.

Now the VO asked me what was the request i had.

I asked him if he could log me in as being in GZ to support my wife during the interview.

He said no problem!!

He entered that i was there for my wife and that we would like a CR1 interview because my wife wants to work in the U.S..

I thanked him for all his help and told him to have a nice day.

Now comes Interview day:

We get there at 7:00am and like many have said here before there was a very long line.

They started to let people in at 7:15am

The line was moving very slow but was moving.

We get all the way up to the front and was just about to get the card they give you when the guard said we all must wait for 20 min.

They stoped letting people in and he walked away!!

Must have been a PISS brake!!!

Anyhow we got in and the wife went up to the 5th floor and i went to the coffie shop.

by now it is about 8:15am and i knew i was in for a long wait.

One hour latter i see my wife coming down from the 5th floor.

All i seen in her hand was a WHITE SLIP!!! my hart fell out of my chest.

Come to find out it was just a DS-230 part two.

Wife tells me they are going to do a CR1 interview.

So from some where between the ACH and the interview day our CR1 was logged in.

So i filled out the DS-230 part two for the wife and she went back up to the 5th floor.

Now here is the strange part, I always though our SO could not leave the interview room and then come back again.

But some how my wife did.

So for the next 5 hours i waited and waited and waited and the longer i waited the stress level was rising.

A little after 2:00pm i see my wife again but this time i see that all mighty BLUE SLIP!! ( missing the VAC for CR1 )

Wife was only asked three questions

1) VO asked for her passport and also asked to see my passport.

My wife had my passport with her.

She gave them to the VO and he looked at mine very closely.

She said he was looking at my visa stamps ( I only had two visits )

2) The VO asked my wife the dates of all my visits.

She answered correctly.

3) The VO asked to see the I-864 papers and all three years of tax returns.

He looked at the I-864 for a minute and looked at the tax returns.

My wife said when he looked at my 2006 return he was very impressed.

He told my wife that i filed married jointly and that she was on my tax return with her ITIN number and that this shows a very strong bonafide relationship.

He then told my wife the CR1 visa is good to go but can not give it to her today ( BLUE SLIP ) because she needs to get her shots for CR1.

He said get your shots done and we will give you CR1 visa.

So need less to say other than a Blue Slip and a very easy overcome

the CR1 was very easy to get!!!

So now the only thing left to do is get airline tickets for the wife.

Thats another story tickets now are very $$$$$$$$$$

Once again my wife and I want to give everyone here on CFL our thanks for all your help.

If not for CFL and the wonderful people here i know this would have been very tough to do alone.

God bless and God speed to all that are getting close to having your SOs here.

Congrats to you both Michael!

I have to say your attitude and confidence through this whole ordeal has really been an inspiration. You really kept your eye on the ball and didn't whine or feel sorry for youself. You just knuckeled down and did what it took to get through.

You really earned your pink slip. Best of luck getting yourselves back here and much happiness in the future.

Congratulations to both of you.

Regarding the beneficiary coming out during the interview process, this is permitted. In fact she probably had a slip of paper with the reason checked off. As I recall there are 5-6 reasons and "other" (as in a proper CFL poll).

My Lao Po came out because she didn't have enough copies of one of the forms.
