China’s first KFC

Post by randy w »

from China Pictorial on Facebook

China’s first KFC opened in downtown Beijing on November 12, 1987. It was the first fast-food chain to open a restaurant in China. KFC was a novelty, a taste of America. Many Chinese people had no idea about it but showed natural curiosity about the Western-style food. They queued outside the store to have a meal with their loved ones. The outlet sold 2,200 buckets of chicken that first day. by Zhang Jusheng
