The whole vegetable debacle does seem pretty innocuous, but given that none of these guys can read or understand Chinese I'd be pretty nervous to just appear in some random music video promoting who knows what. I can't say I've kept up too much with the China vlogging community these days but JaYoe does seem to be easily the most naive of these guys.

"Useful idiots" is the perfect term for these people.
They aren't traitors, they are just oblivious to their actions.
Its funny, but these people are collaborating with the worlds worst tyranny. They don't see the harm but it is there.

Looks like Gweilo is thinking about opening a bar in Nanning. Assuming he goes through with it, I wish him well but it's a TON of work, upfront money, and risky. The location looks a bit suboptimal as well. Interesting to see how this plays out.

Next time you go to Beihai, check out Tommy's (not affiliated with Tommy's in LA). It's an expat bar, where the Australian expat owner left China and gave the bar to his Chinese workers, who kept it pretty much as is. AKA Lai Lai TangMi

Actually, in Nanning, the Babel French Restaurant is pretty good (for Mexican food and hamburgers), and is pretty close to Gweilo.
