ndjarrett
OK....I JUST wasted a damned day of vacation so Yaya could get her fingerprints done in Des Moines IA USCIS office (why the hell it can't be done at a local police deparment I dunno) on 3/25. They sent her a damned letter on 3/28 "Fingerprint Notification Reschedule Notification" that we just got today, 3/30. What the HELL? Of Course...you can ONLY call a 1-800 number for info. Of course, those people know NOTHING. Of course, nobody can tell you HOW to contact the Des Moines office other than driving to it during normal business hours. What a JOKE! Guess I'll hafta waste ANOTHER vacation day. Everything in this process is just a big cluster!*@#. Link to comment
rogerluli
It's hard to believe that after all we have to go through to get the %*$ @*)$ visa, then it starts all over again with AOS. There has to be a better way... Of course the one bright spot is that then we have our SOs here with us... Link to comment
Dan R
Well of course we must do the AOS because now they are staying. So why did we need more than what is required for a visitor's visa if it is only good for 90 days and not extendable? But I am sure they did it to protect our best interests. Link to comment

The reason you got to CIS is that everything is digitized and stored in their system. If you file for AP, the form will have her digitized photo on it as an example. Yes, AOS can be frustrating, but at least she is here. Think on the bright side. Link to comment
Mengxin
They're making Squeaky's wife fly all the way back to GZ for an IR1 interview. Guess we don't have any embassy's in America that could do the work that needs to be done in the Americain embassy in GZ. The 1 million dollar question... Why?I need a new "Bang head here!" sign. http://www.delmar.edu/Courses/images/emodicons/em_banghead_ani.gif Link to comment

Hell, we have 3 ins offices right here in ohio, none more than 140 miles from me, one only 40 miles. Never try and figure out the government. Link to comment
Dan R
There seems to be a misconception going on that government is supposed to provide convenience for the people rather than the government employee. I wonder how this started. WOW !! cool where did you find the little head banger guy? Link to comment
Mengxin
Fellas, Puhleeaseee... 140 miles vs. > 7000mi. Convienience? Ya right.I was in the Navy. If I wasn't, then I might be able to understand, but having some knowlege of how our goverment operates, i'm not buying it. (even though it's not my choice to buy it or not.) I got that .gif from this site. http://www.delmar.edu/Courses/images/emodicons/?N=Ahttp://www.chinaadviser.com/images/china_mapoptmi.jpg<----http://www.delmar.edu/Courses/images/emodicons/em_jetski_ani.gif <----http://communication.ucsd.edu/Icons/bay-area.gif Link to comment

Foreign countries embassies and consulates are here. Going for the visa, one deals with the State Department. In Squeeks case, it is not required - it is a choice. The other option is to file AOS with USCIS (Department of Homeland Security) and wait it out. No one is making Ling do anything. She can simply ride out her K-3 until it expires and then leave the US. She and Mark are choosing to do something else. Thanks Don, and yes, it is our choice. I weighed all of the options, AOS, physical here, fingerprint, interview, find translator, not sure if interview here in Columbus, Cincinnati or Cleveland, so again, find translator, deal with Omaha again, heck, the EAD was 9-11 months, never mind the I-485,just way too many variables. The easiest option, fly home, deal with them again, and then be done with all of the government BS. The only problem now is Ling, spend too much money fly back home. Then today when she found out, wait maybe 2 years for gren card, maybe 1 year for SSN, now okay fly home. Link to comment
