In the Packet 4 document package, there is a form called, "Certification of Legal Capacity and Intent to Marry".

It looks as though my fiancee just fills in my name and signs it. Then the Consulate signs the form. Is this all there is to it? It does not have to be notarized by anyone outside of the embassy correct?

I am also told that she must get a letter from the authorities saying she is not now married and this must be notarized or at least be from the proper authorities. In other words, since her divorce in 1989, she is not now married. Is this correct. There were no instructions in the Packet 4 concerning this letter, but I have seen mention of it here.

Perhaps these letters are one in the same.

Appreciate your help.

Hi,,

I wrote a Letter of Intent to Marry and had it notorized and I signed it.

In the letter I explained, I did in fact intend to marry her and when and where the wedding will take place and I got a letter from a Pastor from work on my work Letter Head. I just wanted to try and cover all the bases.

I hope this helps.

Rick
