marriage eligibility document

This is the first time I have heard of a marriage eligibility document for my fiancee. She has her certified divorce papers. Can someone tell me what for the marriage eligibility document is?

On the consulate website it is known as a notarial single certificate. Your SO gets it from her hukou. I've never seen it and I couldn't read it if I did but evidently they want it for the interview as we found out when ours was more than a year old. It just verifies that she has not remarried and is eligible to marry you.
