mikem
I do not know if all have seen this yet but thought i would post just received from FLY China in my e-mail.. CONTINENTAL, AMERICAN GET US-CHINA FLYING RIGHTS The Dept. of Transportation (DOT) tentatively decided Feb. 22, 2005 to choose Continental and American to become new entrants in the U.S.-China market, enabling Continental to start daily Newark-Beijing service as early as March 25 and American to launch daily Chicago-Shanghai service a year later. The DOT said Continental warranted the first pick because the lack of U.S. carrier nonstop service between the New York area and China is the "most serious service deficiency." It chose American for 2006 because it would provide "the strongest competitive challenge to Northwest and United" in the U.S.-China market.___________________________________________________________ AIR CHINA ADD FLIGHTS IN SUMMER 2005 In Summer 2005, Air China will add more non-stop flights in its US-China routes. Beginning on July 2, 2005, Air China will fly New York-Beijing daily. Beginning on July 6, 2005, Air China will fly Los Angeles-Beijing 6 days a week. Air China will also fly San Francisco-Beijing 5 days a week, beginning on March 27, 2005. In addition, Air China has code-shared with United Airlines to offer 4 additional daily non-stop flights to Beijing and Shanghai out of United gateway cities Chicago and San Francisco.___________________________________________________________ Link to comment
lele
Wow! Now if the EWR to Beijing Flight can only be as cheap as the JFK to Beijing Flight is! It is even easier for those of us in the NE to get to (since JFK is packed and the A line has been damaged in a recent fire). Link to comment
