cosmiclobster
I got the best price from www.bt-store.comMake sure the price you are quoted includes all of the taxes and fees.I recommend checking for the best fares after midnight also. Many reserved tickets that were not purchased go back into the pool then and you can sometimes get a better deal. Good luck! Link to comment
pkfops
You have to shop hard. Start looking 120 days in advance. You should start seeing low fares at 90 days. Sometimes Yahoo & Expedia offer the lowest fare;Maybe the the other online agents, maybe local agents, maybe the airlines themselves. It is all about timing and the day of the week you leave.Leave on a Tue, Wed or Thu. Agents trade tickets at 90, 60, 30 and 7 (and 24hr) days. That's when you will find the best deal. The more work you put in the cheaper the fare. The thing about travel in China is just airfare and hotel.Day to day expenses are next to nothing. I actually save when I am there. My last two trips were for about three weeks each and wewent to 4 & 5 cities. Air & Hotel was about $2100. If I went to a travel agent and bought the same package Iwould spend about $7000 to $10,000. Do your research, do as much on your own and alwaysbuy your domestic air tickets in China. The more you work, the cheaper it is. Link to comment

Guest blsqueaky
I have checked many times the different sites, travelocity, expedia, etc, etc, and I always found FlyChina got me the best price, in fact when my wife had to fly over on an emergency, NW quoted me a price of $2400, flychina got me the same flight, the same day for $1000. Go figure, and that was from Columbus to GZ, 2 stops Link to comment

tonyontherock
airline ticket price range: 600 in low season rt from New YOrk to Hong Kong and 800 in high season, NY-Hong Kong or Beijing. If you are paying more than that, you are paying too much. Travel agents in Chinatown buys whole trip, say from Chicargo to Hong kong, and sells the segments separately, one ticket to sb from Chicargo to New York for a price and one ticket to you from New York to Hong Kong. That is where they get the lower price. If you are not near Chinatown, get some one to send you a copy of the Chiense News paper travel section and you can just call the number and shop around. From the west coast the rt ticket should range from 4 to 5 hundred. Link to comment
