June03
I heard from somewhere that when your fiance go to the interview in GZ they'd like to see of your last year's tax return. 1) By tax return do they mean only the 1040 or the whole brick thick stack? 2) How about W2, do they need to see the original or just a copy? tywy_99
I used a copy of the IRS 1040 and a copy of the W-2 for the latest year, in duplicate. Link to comment

Bruce&Ying
I have my 1-134 and 2004 tax return (just filed) ready for the interview on Feb 23. Now Ying tells me I need to have THREE years tax returns. I thought that was just for the next Support Affidavit.... Anybody know? Link to comment
tywy_99
Here's A strange twist to it:I was just looking at the latest revised I-134, (07/09/04) and the instructions say If self-employed: 1) copy of the latest income tax return filed, or......So I went back to my copy with a revised date of 10/12/00 and it says the same thing.I always understood it as having a copy of your latest return. Never occured to me that that only applies to self-employed. Oh well, shows how much attention I pay to the instructions!......But I do definitely know for a fact: 3 returns for the I-864.3 returns for the I-134? Hmmmm..dunno about that one. Link to comment
Guest Long_strider
Usually you only need the most recent copy of the 2 page 1040 with the I-134. However, if GZ has questions they can give her a blue slip that asks for three years worth of 1040s. I suggest if you have them, have all three available during the interview in case they ask. Probably if you go to the trouble of having all three for the interview they won't even look at any of them. We have three years for the interview and they chose to review all three. Who knows? I suggest overkill rather than just the minimum. Saves on potential problems at the interview and cuts down on the worry... You will need all three years for the I864 when you file for AOS. long_strider Link to comment
beijingjenny
Just bringing this up again because Mufasa's post made me realize - my parents didn't send W-2 copies with their I-864, only three years of 1040s. Do we need those? And if so, mailing me scanned copies should suffice right? Or whatever computer records if they filed electronically? Thanks,Jenny Link to comment
olemanoman1950
Yes for the W-2's, I have copies of mine but I am also bringing the Originals just in case. Link to comment
