removal of co-sponsor?

Well Charlie and I have made it to Hawaii and we are doing very well except that my wifes cosponsor (my grandfather) is ruling her stay here with an iron fist. How can I remove him, how long before his assistance is no longer required and what can we do to get some freedom?

Yeah, his co-sponsorship only means he's financially responsible for her to an extent. It gives him no rights over her whatsoever, and he cannot retract his sponsorship, have her deported or anything like that. So you can tell him to take a flying leap if you want to. He has no power at all. Only responsibility.
