Hey all,

I just want to say excellent source of visa information here.

I'm in the initial stage of filling out the I-130 and on Part 4. Information about beneficiary (cont.) The instructions state to use the beneficiary's native script for the foreign name and address. I entered the characters for her name without any problem, the address however changes characters after fully input into the form, what gives? Using microsoft pinyin new experience input method. Here's a before and after:

After typing out the address:

input Q

After selecting the next field or hitting enter:

input Q1

Any help or insight would be much appreciated, thanks

Problem has to do with how the document is encoded by the designer, PDF files don't support Unicode. Best to hand print the characters in the lines specifiying or even make notation on the line "see attachment" and accach a sheet with characters typed on the sheet and specifying part and line numbers on the form.

Here is what adobe has on PDF support of coding.

Okay just for clarification, could I just finish typing out all the other fields, leave that blank and then fill it in by hand? Or must I either type ALL fields or hand print all fields. It's just that I've already pretty much got the form filled out I don't want to have to start over in Adobe reader....

**Edit: I got it open in Adobe Reader now I'm just going to re-do it, thanks for the help guys.

Open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader instead of the browser

If their browser or Adode Acrobat installation, or the pdf file itself are not configured correctly for Chinese characters, then it just won't work. Hopefully, they are not just spinning their wheels trying out your suggestion.

When I tried it -

A font package is required to take this action on this font
