Why he is still alive is anyone's guess. Like the guy who shot Chris Kyle, the Navy SEAL sniper, this guy was clearly schizophrenic. Characteristic of schizophrenia is hearing voices. It is especially dangerous if there is an added paranoia such as having the CIA tell him to join ISIS. Those who have PTSD are more likely to kill themselves than other people and are extremely grounded to reality, to a fault. Link to comment
