Guys,

Thanks for greast webpage.

Hoping someone out there with some relevant help and advise at hand.

I have lived in Shanghai for some years for work. I am now in the US for the same work. I am Danish Citizen.

I met my wife in Shanghai (chinese citizen from Fuijan) and we got married here in the US as its just way easier.

She went bak to Shanghai for her L2 dependant interview (, I am on L1-visa) . She had same 2 weeks ago and everything went fine.

Marriage certificate and all other docs were in order. VO had no further questions. A supervisor still decided to put her in AP and handed her a pink form for same. Told her 4 weeks or more... no further documents asked or anything else... they kept her passport... As she of course was upset she did not asked more into it as it was no way expected.

Now, we have our honeymoon in 3 weeks time and I am starting to get worried... I have read on the american chamber in Shanghai that the Shanghai consulate are down to around 3 weeks in AP wait time, but I have read so many different stories that have no idea what to expect...

does anyone out there have similar experience or advise on what / how to approach DOS? I have seen people posting that they have been in contact with DOS, but no idea how to do this... my company lawyer is of little help and jsut advise me to wait and tells me its "usual process"..... well...

Hope anyone out there can share or chip in... thank you guys!

brgds

Peter

Administrative processing means exactly that - without a clue as to why or what, it can last anywhere from 2 weeks to six months or longer. I wouldn't think it would be long for a non-immigrant visa.
