Guangzhou Embassy Interview Dates?

Does anyone have any information on the Guangzhou interview dates? I have been checking for over 2 weeks and haven't seen one interview date pop up....I know they're moving locations so that might have something to do with it. I just want to know a ETA on this...:S

The last we've heard is that they had opened the dates through July 12 - http://candleforlove.com/forums/topic/45829-interview-preparation-materials-k1/?p=601597

 

The Visa Units have not made any announcement about the move, but, like you're seeing, they're apparently simply not making any appointments for that week.

 

The announcement from the American Citizen Services Unit: "The U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou will soon move to a new and spacious facility in the Zhujiang New Town neighborhood. During our move it will be necessary to suspend temporarily our usual passport, extra pages, consular report of birth, and notary services. From July 15 through July 22, appointments and passport pick up will not be available." The Adoptions Unit made a similar announcement, although they don't expect to re-open until July 25.

The mess is due to the move - and that they're (the consulate) not telling anyone what's going on about the move. Under the old system, you would simply be waiting to hear from them about your interview appointment.

We've just heard from a couple of people on VJ who have made interview appointments in August - Aug 8 and Aug 12 - where the confirmation letter lists the old address. They say they're assuming that that's a mistake, that it will be the new address.

 

Unless they make an announcement one way or the other, though, we won't know for sure until they re-open for business on or around the 22nd or 24th. . .
