Pretty straightforward. By far people here talk Visa, then sidechat with members and life together after visa

But most of all, what the 'stats' tell you is that VISA topics are far less likely to be deleted during a database purge

That is disappointing. A database purge is like amputation or erasing history to a messageboard / database guy. :)

The only data base purge I know of is when The Don left he deleted all of his posts. I didn't agree with that but he owned the site, I could hardly tell him no. Now I am the trustee of this site and I will do no such thing. When I hand it off I will secure the promise of my successors that they will do no such thing.

We're on an "unlimited" plan - unlimited disk space, and unlimited bandwidth. The 'gotcha' is that if your CPU usage goes over 25% for 90 seconds or more, they will shut down your database.

In watching this morning, it looks like Bing was eating up more than 50% of the CPU time for around 10 seconds with maybe 9 or 10 sessions active at once. Hopefully, we can put a cap on that.

Search engines are good for bringing traffic to the site but if that's what's causing us to go over our quota, we definitely need to stop it.

Nothing has been purged other than the Don's exit. Still have posts going back to the beginning.

I think the main reason the visa forum has the most is probably in the early days there were no AOS, Consulate, Interview result, and Citizenship forums, they probably were added later, so the one forum had posts about all stages of immigration.

Sorry but I find these things interesting. I ran some SQL commands and found the oldest topic still available is # 7. PJ's 'Welcome' thread, which I had found at one point, is no longer in the database.

Most of the earliest threads are gone, as are some more recent.

IMO: The first post in this thread is pointless.

Who cares about the stats.

Were family here.

If that was deleted or this was deleted then or now.

does not matter.

The rest should be posted in the Mod forum.

Database purge, SQL Queries, and what not should not be public questions.

Just IMO.

They had been moved to the Mod forum after (and along with) your first post - the ones left may or may not be of interest.
