The consulate does not follow the work day re-arrangement. That is, for example, instead of using Jan 29 and 30 as weekend make-up (work) days for Feb 4 and 5, they will be open on Feb 4 and 5.

Spring Festival (Chinese New Year)

  • February 10 to February 17, 2024 (eight rest days in total)

Notice of some holiday arrangements

State Council Invention News [2023] No. 7

 

The people's governments of all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government, all ministries and commissions of the State Council, and all agencies directly under the State Council:

With the approval of the State Council, the specific arrangements for the holidays of New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays in 2024 are notified as follows.

1. New Year’s Day: January 1 is a holiday, consecutively with the weekend.

2. Spring Festival: There will be a holiday from February 10th to 17th, a total of 8 days. Work on February 4th (Sunday) and February 18th (Sunday). All units are encouraged to implement systems such as paid annual leave and arrange for employees to take a break on New Year's Eve (February 9).

3. Qingming Festival: There will be a holiday from April 4th to 6th, a total of 3 days. Go to work on April 7 (Sunday).

4. Labor Day: May 1st to 5th, a total of 5 days off. Work on April 28th (Sunday) and May 11th (Saturday).

5. Dragon Boat Festival: It will be a holiday on June 10, and it will be closed on the weekend.

6. Mid-Autumn Festival: There will be a holiday from September 15th to 17th, a total of 3 days. Go to work on September 14th (Saturday).

7. National Day: October 1st to 7th, a total of 7 days. Go to work on September 29th (Sunday) and October 12th (Saturday).

During the holidays, all regions and departments must properly arrange duty, safety, security, epidemic prevention and control, and other work. In case of major emergencies, they must be reported in a timely manner and handled properly in accordance with regulations to ensure that the people spend the holidays peacefully and safely.
