Cost of the stay in Guangzhou for interview

Hello Brothers & Sisters

 

I wil be traveling soon to Guangzhou for Ling's interview . I would like to to ruffly know how much it will cost me to stay there for the duration of the interview

and medical exam hotel food taxi ? i think we wlil be there for a week ( 7 ) days or less

Depends partly on where you plan on staying.

 

I would guestimate I spent at least $1000 there.

We took care of the medical exams in Fuzhou and flew round trip to Guangzhou. We stayed in a hotel for 3 nights. One day I went to the US Citizens Hour and had pages added to my passport and the next day was the wife's marathon interview....about $1.000 not much more if any.

You can stay at a 7 Days in for about $34/night. Book one within walking distance to Embassy & save on taxi fare. Taxi fare varies by 100% (rush hour is much more expensive). If you eat side street local cooking, you can get by rather inexpensively. I'm assuming you've paid for medical exam & vaccinations already. You will also have a small fee for the EMS Waybill.

Traditionally, when doing business at the old American Consulate, the first choice was the five star White Swan, just down the street. ----and still, IMHO the best choice for an event of this magnitude. You might want to explore if they have direct (and free) shuttle service to the new Consulate office, and the price of the combined room and buffet breakfast---best in all of China, IMHO. overlooking the Pearl River. Suggest the website: AsiaHotels for best rates. Would be surprised if it were more than $150.00 per night.

Anyway many stay with the Yangs, they have apartments to rent in the same complex and the Consulate very convenient, exit side of building walk around front, and enter the consulate, rooms are ok, and reasonable at around $35 or so a night, and the Yangs will help you out getting to places like medical, rent a phone, and even advice as to paperwork order, and interview questions.
