Renewing Chinese Passport in the U.S. (MIAMI FL 11/23/12)

My wife's Chinese Passport will be expiring and Houston is the consulate that Florida folks use. We will make a trip to Houston if we have to but I've seen that the consulate has gone to Miami in the past to do an "outreach" type of thing.

 

Anybody know if there's one coming up? So far we haven't been able to reach the Houston Consulate by phone.

Sounds like it was held April 16th at the Chinese Gospel Church..

I would contact that Church, and see if anything is planed..

Another option is to drop in at the one is DC if planning on a vacation in that direction, I have seen posts where they give some objections for visiting wrong consulate, and then handle it anyway, especially in silly cases like living in Montana, Utah, and Idaho having the DC office as the consulate of jurisdiction where it would be just as easy to travel to San Fransisco.

I am glad my wife took care of this on her last trip to China summer 2010, and if things go as planned, she will be replacing the red passport for a shiny new blue one next month.

We went to Houston from West Palm Beach, Florida and completed the process in a matter of hours. Returned home the same day.

FYI: The Houston Consulate will be at the Chinese Church in Miami mentioned above in post #2. They will be there on "Black Friday" November 23rd, 2012.
