Made a Mistake

Recommended Posts

Firstly, smokiessky please forgive me to use your thread to ask my own question because I have a similar question (made mistake on forms). I just found out that when we filled out our G325 form we missed one city (lived after age 16 or something), but in our DS 230 we added that one city in there. So they don't match up ask the timeline wise. Will that be causing us any problem? or do I need to write up a letter explaining that too?

Thank you very much

That one wont be an issue either, the G-325A is a supporting doc for the initial petition and sometimes people have clearer recall by the time they get to filling out the DS-230.

So do I need to prepare a letter explaining that or they won't even catch it?

Prepare a letter explaining mistake, but more than likely they may or may not question this.

Hi, I'm fairly new here and appreciate all the information and feedback. I have a similar question about the G325. Our I-129F Petition for our K1 was approved and my fiance, who is in China, and I are finishing the DS-160. However, I just noticed a couple of errors on her G325:

a) The end date on one of her employment jobs says 2015 but it was actually 2013

b) She had a part time job between 2013 and 2015 but she forgot to enter it

We now need to put the corrected work history in the appropriate section in the DS-160. What do we do now about the G325a? I have read so many conflicting suggestions on other sites. Shall we call the Visa Center in the States to try to submit an amended 325a? Or bring a new 325a to her interview in China and explain the error to the interviewer?

Also, I see a full Resume is requested. Am I reading that right?

Thank you!

The I-129F and G-325A are done and filed, don't bother with trying to correct it.

Do the DS-160 correctly, and if during the course of the visa interview they ask just indicate spouse made mistake on the G-325A. I highly doubt that they would even ask about it.

Thank you very much, that's helpful to know. There's one more dangling question my fiance and I are discussing,

The last time she did a DS160 for a tourist Visa her daughter, who was studying in the US, was home in China for the Summer. She put her daughter's US address down as the US contact but said No to the question of having a relative in the US since her daughter was in China at the time. Now her daughter is in the US as a student and I said she should put Yes, that she has a relative in the US but she is worried now that it may look inconsistent in relation to her previous DS160 a year and a half ago. She felt, I believe mistakenly, that the question was meant as citizens who are relatives although the 160 lists a variety of status levels.

I believe she should say Yes to having a relative in the US for a child who is here studying, would you agree?

Thank you, I appreciate your thoughts and time.
