Tax question...

I have all of my W2s for the past three years, but I only have the 1040s for 2006 and 2007. I do not have 2008 because i am requesting a foriegn earned income tax exclusion(was in the Middle East). If I do need the 2008 return what would be the fastest way to obtain it?

Order a tax transcript from the IRS for the last 3 years. It's easier and more complete. With a transcript you don't need the 1040s or W2s. Follow the link below:

Always have the latest tax information.

Always file. Even if nothing is owed then file so you can prove it for later if needed (such as immigration).

Ditto!

I always tell people to file even if it is a ZERO return, the consulate will want you to site the IRS rule and reason for not filing a return.

Also filing is one thing that shows that you may have NOT given up US Domicile. US Domicile is REQUIRED in-order to sponsor an immigrant, no proof of US Domicile by the petitioner, then NO Visa.
